CAN YOU HELP BUILD OUR NEXT PROJECT?

Our Alun School Construction students are getting ready to start a new tiling project, and we need your help!

We’re looking for donations of:
Tiles – any size welcome
Tiling adhesive
Grout – any colour

Whether you’re a parent, a local business or a member of our wider community, any donation would make a real difference to our students’ learning and practical skills.

If you have any spare materials you could donate, we’d love to hear from you!

Help us build skills, confidence and opportunities for our future tradespeople.

SCIENCE CLUB: FOAMING MONSTERS!

Our young scientists got creative as they mixed science with a bit of monster magic to create their very own foaming monsters!

From bubbling reactions to fantastic foam, students explored the excitement of chemical reactions through hands-on experiments, curiosity and plenty of fun.

A brilliant example of learning by doing, thinking like scientists and having fun along the way!

Is your child too ill to attend school?

It can sometimes be difficult to know whether your child is well enough to come into school when they are unwell.

Our latest video provides practical guidance for parents and carers on what to consider when your child is ill, when they should stay at home, and when they are well enough to return to school.

Remember: good attendance matters, but your child’s health and wellbeing always come first.

As a school we are thinking of the family and friends of our former colleague Teresa Carberry, who passed away recently.

Teresa was a much-loved and valued teacher at Alun School for many years and she will remain forever in our hearts and memories. She brought so much laughter, warmth, hugs and joy to the Maths Department, creating many happy memories that we will cherish.

Teresa will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her

Supporting Each Other Through Learning

We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form students who are giving their time to support our younger pupils through our Sum Buddies and Paired Reading Schemes.

These schemes provide valuable support for our lower school students while giving our Sixth Formers the opportunity to develop their leadership, communication and mentoring skills.

It’s fantastic to see our students working together, building confidence and helping each other to succeed.

Year 7 Camp – Get Ready for an Adventure!

Our Year 7 students will have the opportunity to take part in an exciting camp experience, where they will take on new challenges, try new activities and make memories that will last long after their first year at Alun School.

Camp will be a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, develop independence, work as a team and strengthen friendships as they continue their journey through Year 7.

There will be opportunities to step outside their comfort zone, support their friends and discover what they are capable of.

We can't wait to see our Year 7 students embrace the challenges, enjoy the experience and make memories together!
