The transformation of the special one - Vikki Varley.

INTRODUCTION

Circa 2019 Vikki was a regular at Roy Elllams Fitness Connection in Mirfield. Daily she would pound miles out on the treadmill, followed by a resistance training circuit. Her work ethic and never giving up attitude, evident from the very start.

DEVELOPMENT

Always very bubbly like a ray of sunshine on a grey rainy day. It wasn't long before this young lady was showing some fabulous improvement but boy was the work going in. The treadmill started to take a backseat to more and more complex resistance training.

LEARNING her craft

It wasn't long before everyone could see how well she was doing, with most of the gym girls asking her for tips on how to improve. She had gained a huge fan base, not only because of her physical achievements but her personality shone like a diamond. Always time for everyone.

COMPETITION

After 4 years of learning her craft, she found herself in a position good enough to compete in a bodybuilding show. Everyone asking her when she would compete. Something that was burning in her heart to do something different and challenging and at the 2024 NAC BRITISH Vikki made her debut.

PREPERATION

Her preperation running into the show was consistently intense. It's very rare to find an athlete with such a wonderful shape and aesthetic contour as Vikki, as we'll as perfect symmetry. Her quads and calves to die for, back development of flair and taper, with a muscular depth, structure & separation of someone that's going to be around this sport of ours for many years.

ZONING IN

Her dietary changes and show prep resistance circuits along with countless hours learning physique presentation and she was ready and ripped for her baptism of fire against legend Faye Ellis and co. She took 3rd place in her debut competition against athletes who have been at the very pinnacle of bodybuilding elite.

THE FUTURE

She is now in hard training for next years competitive calendar, with a clear mind of where improvements are required and a huge desire to succeed. Exciting times ahead with a fresh enthusiasm and exuberance I've not seen before.

Memories forged in iron-2024

Awesome to be back in competition after 6 years away.

Roy Elllams Fitness Connection gym organised a team of competitors to go take the NAC UK open British by storm. 125 supporters travelled up from west Yorkshire to make it a day to remember.

I entered class 4 and was against a couple of old mates, Wayne Robinson & Kenny Webster along with debutant Ben Whitworth.

Unfortunately this was not my day. A couple of minor problems i couldn't overcome but if I weren't in top shape I wouldn't have competed. I competed because win or loose, I'm a competitor, and take that away from an athlete, you'll not find much left.

I didn't win, I was correctly placed and fair play to Wayne Robinson, he looked amazing after coming out of retirement. well meet again my friend. Special mention to Ben Whitworth for the drive, dedication and determination he has shown while training for his debut show. Ben, you looked incredible and you've a huge future in bodybuilding.

BALANCE - mind and body - get in line !

Everyday we are bio chemically and bio mechanically different. Many factors come into this Inc. everyday stresses, sleep patterns, recovery phases from training, weather, injury, mood, mental illness, this list is endless.

If we are low or unbalanced in chemical output in our brain it will have an adverse affect on our mechanical performance in the gym. How many times have we tried a bench press or squat and thought, "this feels heavy today". When the chemicals are outa line the mechanical movement will also be.

Keeping a structure such as set training days, set meal times, set waking times, set bed times, balance in food intake, balance in training all help to bring the bio chemical alongside the bio mechanical and keep things progressive in sport, help stabilise mood and is often the medication of mental illness.
