As we get closer to Halloween, I am reminded of something that is really frustrating, especially for folk trying to run small businesses.

GHOSTING

What is ghosting? Sending messages or asking questions in comments and then not responding to replies.
I accidentally pressed 'message' to another business this morning and didn't even realise ( sneaky FB platform layout) but I received an auto message saying a member of their team will get in touch later. Rather than waste their precious time later I simply messaged back 'msg'd by mistake'. They sent a blushing smiley face and a thumbs up. All done and dusted.
Please if you ask for details and then are not interested, rather than leave me wondering if you want to book, a simple 'thanks , maybe another time' or something, saves a business like mine so much 'out of hours' admin time. 💚.

Okay, I am going to admit something shocking.
This morning I had to get my manual out to remember how to thread my machine!!!
I use it everyday and change threads countless times, I can thread everyone else's machines ... but in what can only be a senior moment I was totally confused 😵‍💫.
Moral of the story? Always keep your manuals and accessories close to hand 👌☺️.

Yes, I bought a Brother PE100 from a lovely lady that bought it from new. She went 'halfs' with her mum and paid for it in monthly installments. It was a huge investment at the time as the first domestic, digital embroidery machine.
Teresa and her mum used the machine in their business for many years and although it seems incredibly basic compared to the mega-machines we can get now, this beauty is still doing a brilliant job and is now in the studio so you can personalise your makes 🤩.

The 'Hack Attack & Reels Reality' session today really was sew much fun and quite interesting.
We tried what was about a fifteen second reel which probably took us an hour to set up to the stage the reel began and then the reality wasn't quite what the video showed. Another hour later ( admittedly we did a lot of talking too) and the consensus was ?
7 out of 10. Neat tote - didn't need to be made that fiddly.
Also tried a roll hem hack using paper 👎.

More importantly - students posing ( still being shy though 😅!!
We made bags!

We had a brilliant afternoon Sewcial today. As well as their own sewing projects I explained about 'twin needle' machine sewing and we all had a go. Becky used a colour thread and a grey thread and made some really effective 'shadow' stitching while Louise played with texture adding wadding and quilting.
It's not too late to come play on Monday afternoon. It never fails to get me excited when we explore techniques together.
