For UK Parliament Week, Year 4 at Old Cleeve and Minehead First School participated in a debate called Books vs Television. Both sides wrote a key set of arguments and ideas, which they introduced to all members of Year 4 to try and persuade them to vote for their cause. Children then had the opportunity across the year group to rebuttal one another and provide counterarguments. Year 4 then took a vote at the end of the debate. On this occasion, books won! Both sides were very persuasive in their arguments, and they cannot wait to debate again in the Spring.
