๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ What a wonderful week at Milaโ€™s Little Owls! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ
This week we carry on with our People Who Help Us topic, focusing on police officers and doctors. The Little Owls enjoyed reading stories, taking part in role play, building police stations, caring for baby dolls and learning about how these important people help us every day.
๐Ÿš“ A highlight of the week was meeting two police officers and seeing a real police car up close!
๐Ÿ“š We also enjoyed visits to the library, Hummingbirds Playgroup and Little Learners, where the children explored, created, played and made new friends.
โ˜€๏ธ With the beautiful weather, we spent lots of time outdoors enjoying walks, garden play and water activities.
A fantastic week full of learning, imagination and fun!

Over the last few weeks Iโ€™ve had more people than usual with complaints of โ€˜faulty car seatsโ€™ however, 9/10 times food is the culprit, not a fault.

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ“ฎ People Who Help Us โ€“ Week 1 ๐Ÿ“ฎ๐Ÿš’

What a fantastic week the Little Owls have had learning about the amazing people who help us every day!
This week we focused on firefighters, postal workers and delivery helpers. We listened to the Postman Pat song, looked at pictures of the famous red van and talked about how letters and parcels travel from one place to another. ๐Ÿ“ฌ
We enjoyed reading lots of books, including Freddie the Fire Engine, Bizzy Bearโ€™s Breakdown Truck and train stories. The children loved pretending to travel on trains to different destinations, using their imaginations and developing their communication skills. ๐Ÿš‚
Our role-play activities included driving fire engines, delivering parcels, using toy phones and practising how to call 999 in an emergency. Through play, the children learned about staying safe and how emergency services help our community. ๐Ÿš’โ˜Ž๏ธ
We visited both Hummingbird Playgroup and Little Learners Playgroup, where the Little Owls enjoyed meeting new friends, exploring new environments and developing their social skills. They also had great fun riding bikes, kicking balls, building with blocks and taking part in creative activities. โšฝ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿงฑ๐ŸŽจ
We even made a trip to Broughton Fire Station.
To finish the week, the sunshine finally arrived! โ˜€๏ธ We burned off lots of energy at Cha Cha Chimps and enjoyed plenty of outdoor play in the garden.

We canโ€™t wait to continue our People Who Help Us adventure next week! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฆ‰

๐Ÿท๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿ‘ Farm Animal Fun at Milaโ€™s Little Owls! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿท

What a fantastic week weโ€™ve had exploring our farm animals theme!

Throughout the week, the Little Owls enjoyed learning about different farm animals, the sounds they make, and where they live. We read wonderful stories including Animal Rhymes and Oh Dear!, sang favourite nursery rhymes such as Sleeping Bunnies, Five Little Speckled Frogs and Baa Baa Black Sheep, and had lots of fun building barns, stables, pig pens and hutches using magnetic tiles.

Our adventures took us to the local park, where we spotted dogs, cats and even spiders, and to Tesco, where we explored the book section and visited the dog statue. We also enjoyed exciting outings to soft play, Little Learners and Cha Cha Chimps, where the children had endless fun climbing, sliding, running, dancing, singing and exploring with their friends.

Back at the setting, we continued our learning through imaginative play, building homes for our farm animals, creating artwork, dancing with colourful scarves and enjoying plenty of time outdoors in the garden.

It has been wonderful to see how much the Little Owls have learned.

We also sang lots of nursery rhymes and favourite songs, especially Old MacDonald Had a Farm, which became a big hit this week! ๐ŸŽถ

The lovely weather meant we could enjoy lots of outdoor play too. The Little Owls had so much fun in the garden with water play, splashing in the paddling pool, sliding into the water, catching fish, cooking in the mud kitchen and riding tricycles. We also enjoyed local walks where the children mooed, baa-ed, neighed and chirped like farm animals while walking together under the shady trees. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ

We finished the week with a lovely visit to the library where we explored even more animal books and stories together.

๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšง Construction Week at Little Owls ๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ

This week the Little Owls have been busy exploring our new theme โ€” Construction โ€” and what a fantastic week of learning and play weโ€™ve had!

We began by dressing up as builders and reading stories about construction sites during circle time. After snack, we headed out on local walks hoping to spot real building sites. Although we didnโ€™t find one straight away, the children showed wonderful creativity by collecting flowers, sticks and leaves to build their own magical fairy houses.

Back at the setting, construction play continued with Mega Blocks, stacking cups, wooden blocks and magnetic tiles as the Little Owls built impressive towers and practised teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Our adventures outdoors included pretending to drive trains, fly planes and repair vehicles, while the garden became a busy construction zone filled with diggers, tools, trains and lots of imaginative play. We also enjoyed exploring nature, blowing dandelion seeds and developing our curiosity about the world around us.

Messy play brought plenty of digging, scooping and measuring fun, followed by our story Dig Dig Digger. One of the highlights of the week was our visit to Cha Cha Chimps, where the Little Owls enjoyed singing, dancing and being active together.

We finished our days relaxing in the garden, enjoying sunshine, fresh air and lots of happy learning moments.

A wonderful week full of creativity, exploration and busy little builder

This week we started our new theme โ€” Transport ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿš. During circle time, the Little Owls shared fantastic ideas about different types of transport, from hot air balloons and boats to cars, scooters and helicopters. We explored transport through stories, songs and plenty of imaginative play with trains, cars and wooden track sets, even singing The Wheels on the Train together.

We enjoyed several lovely walks in our local area, spotting different coloured cars, trucks and vans along the way while learning about the world around us. Outdoor play has been a big part of our week too โ€” making the most of both sunny and cooler days. The garden has been full of busy Little Owls riding bikes, climbing, running, and enjoying lots of fresh air and movement.

When the weather turned colder, we visited Dobbies soft play, where everyone had a fantastic time climbing, sliding, exploring and sharing lots of laughter with friends. We also loved our visit to Little Learners playgroup, practising social skills, creative play, riding toys and making new friendships.

Later in the week, the warmer sunshine returned, so we started our day outdoors and finished with exciting water play in the garden. The children had so much fun splashing, scooping and pouring โ€” wonderful sensory learning and teamwork in action! ๐Ÿ’ฆ

It has been a week full of exploration, movement, learning through play and happy moments together. We are very proud of all our Little Owls and the curiosity and joy they bring each day.

p.s we had some new water play toys ๐Ÿ™‚

๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ A Busy Week at Milaโ€™s Little Owls ๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒž

What a wonderful week of learning, exploring and outdoor adventures!

The Little Owls learned all about bees and butterflies, reading stories, observing nature closely and creating beautiful artwork. We counted, explored colours and talked about how insects help our world.

We enjoyed music and movement sessions, singing favourite songs, dancing and exploring musical instruments together. Our walks helped us look for bees, collect flowers and enjoy time at the playground and in the garden.

A special highlight was our Zoo trip, where children visited woodland animals, explored the butterfly house (with butterflies landing on hats!), watched fish swimming and enjoyed an educational Zoo bus ride.

We also had lots of imaginative play, outdoor fun, and a fantastic visit to Cha Cha Chimps full of running, climbing, singing and laughter.

Learning through play, nature and shared experiences makes every day special for our Little Owls ๐Ÿฆ‰๐Ÿ’›
