Join us tomorrow (1st & 3rd Thursday) 7.30pm!📍Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre MK13 9AP Do you want to boost your confidence and self esteem? Are you looking to expand your leadership skills? Would you like to learn new things in warm and friendly atmosphere? Or simply looking for exciting new thing to do in your pass time? If you answered yes to any of the questions then North Bucks Speakers is just what you are looking for! :)

What do we speak about? A wide range of topics! For example members have spoken about hobbies to wedding speeches to work presentations as well as following a structured programme. You will be sure to learn about something every meeting and we always like to laugh too! Who is it for? No experience required, it doesn't matter if you have never spoken in public before or if you regularly have to give presentations. There will always be many people to help support and guide you along your journey. Who are we? We are part of Toastmasters International who are a world wide organisation which has been running since 1905. Our North Bucks Speakers Group is based in Milton Keynes. What happens during meetings? There will be a mixture of prepared speeches, helpful evaluations as well as the chance to speak off the cuff. Will I have to speak? There is no pressure to speak as a guest unless you want to. If you would like to you will be welcomed to take part in the impromptu session where you will be given a question to speak about for 1 minute. How many people attend? We have approximately 20 members who signup for meetings directly. We meet the 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month. Where? Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre, Alston Drive, Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes MK13 9AP. Parking is free. Price? You are welcome to attend as a guest for free. After that, if you decide to join you pay a one-off joining fee of £25 and our membership is currently £75 every 6 months or £12.50 per month. Sign up

☀️🎤 What a fantastic way to end the Toastmasters year!

With glorious sunshine, we took our meeting outdoors beneath a beautiful tree for a special Table Topics Challenge with a twist.

Everyone delivered an impromptu speech, enjoyed great food, drinks and conversation, then tackled the same topic again after the break. The results? Some speeches evolved dramatically! 🤣

🍽️ One member's dream dinner guest changed from his wife to President Obama.
🐱🐶 Cats or dogs? A debate that could have lasted all night!

The highlight of the evening was seeing three guests bravely step up and deliver impromptu speeches—inspiring and impressive to watch.

🏆 Congratulations to Rona, our well-deserved Toastmaster of the Year!

Join us for our FINAL meeting of the year – a special Table Topics Challenge designed to be fun, thought-provoking, and full of surprises!

🎲 Draw a topic at random and deliver an impromptu speech.
🚫 No evaluations – just challenge yourself and enjoy the experience.
🍰 Enjoy bring-and-share social break with food, drinks, and great conversation.
💡 Then revisit the SAME topic and see how your ideas have evolved. Will you refine your speech, take it in a new direction, or completely change your perspective?

We'll round off the evening by celebrating our members with club awards, achievements, and more time to enjoy good food and great company.

🎤✨ An unforgettable night of eloquence, insight, and inspiration at North Bucks Speakers! ✨🎤

Last night we hosted one of the highlights of the Toastmasters calendar - our International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest.
It was an evening filled with powerful storytelling, sharp thinking, and the kind of supportive energy that makes our club so special.

Four outstanding speakers took to the stage in the International Speech Contest — Tom, Agnel, Grace, and Arun — each delivering speeches that captivated the room in their own unique way.

From compelling personal stories to thought-provoking reflections, the audience and judges were treated to an exceptional display of speaking talent.

Then came the Evaluation Contest, where Rona, Datis, Arun, and Nick demonstrated the art of constructive feedback. Evaluating a speech is no small task — it requires careful listening, clarity of thought, and the ability to inspire improvement — and our contestants rose brilliantly to the challenge.

And after a closely fought competition, our winners were announced:

As always, an event like this takes a village - thank you to our judges, timekeepers, organisers, and everyone who came along to support the evening.
