πŸ¦†πŸŒΏ We had some very special visitors in our pond area last week! What a lovely surprise it was to spot a couple of ducks enjoying a rest in the pond. πŸ¦†πŸ’š They were probably taking a well-earned break before continuing on their travels. 🌍

Our pond area is currently bursting with life and providing wonderful opportunities for Science learning. πŸ”¬πŸŒ± Alongside our feathered visitors, we have also spotted lots of tadpoles wriggling through the water. πŸΈπŸ’¦ The children have loved observing the changes taking place and learning about life cycles in their natural habitat.

We can’t wait to see the tadpoles continue to grow and for the frogs to appear! 🐸✨ It is an exciting time in our pond area, with so much wildlife to discover and explore. πŸŒΏπŸ¦†πŸΈπŸ’¦πŸ”πŸ’šπŸŒž

On Friday, we had an amazing visit from M&M Productions, who brought the classic tale of Treasure Island to life for our children. The performance was fantastic, capturing the children’s imaginations from start to finish. The children were thoroughly engaged throughout and loved every minute of the adventure, humour and excitement. It was a wonderful experience and a brilliant way to inspire a love of storytelling and theatre. πŸŽπŸ΄β€β˜ οΈβœ¨

Year Two released their butterflies into nature today after carefully observing their incredible life cycle. Over the past few weeks, the children have watched them transform from caterpillars πŸ› into chrysalises and finally emerge as beautiful πŸ¦‹ . This hands-on experience brought our Science learning to life, helping the children develop their understanding of life cycles, growth and change. It was a wonderful moment to celebrate their learning and see the butterflies begin their journey in the natural world. πŸ¦‹

Year 2 had a fantastic visit from Sport MK yesterday, where they enjoyed developing their cricket skills through a range of fun and engaging activities. 🏏

The children worked on their throwing, catching and batting techniques, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination throughout the session. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practised new skills and challenged themselves.

A big thank you to Sport MK for delivering such an enjoyable coaching session – we had a brilliant time!

In RE today, Year 2 children learnt all about different celebrations, including both religious and non-religious occasions. They discussed what special events mean to different people, such as the birth of a baby, moving house, going on holiday, and religious celebrations including Christmas, Diwali and Eid.

The children shared thoughtful comments and asked thought-provoking questions, showing great respect for different beliefs, traditions and experiences. It was wonderful to see them reflecting on how celebrations bring people together and help create special memories.

Our School Councillors had the pleasure of cheering on Jill Scott as she takes on her incredible 388-mile Sport Relief β€œComing Home Challenge” – cycling and running from Wembley Stadium to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light over five days to raise money for charity. πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

Jill stopped at The Talbot for a rest before making her way through Loughton. Our children were excited to cheer her on and show their support. They also had the opportunity to meet and chat with Rutherford, who was so lovely with the children.

A very special and memorable experience for everyone involved! βοΈπŸ‘πŸ˜Š
