The summer projects at Brooklands are still making good progress. Our cafe is looking great, with our new serving area coming along nicely, and a new splash of paint in the main serving area, we can't wait to share the finished result with you soon.
The new branding is ready to be installed at the end of August and we are busy working on our fabulous new website which will go live in September. Exciting times!

UPDATE FROM MR BENNETT FROM MOUNT KILIMANJARO:

Following a fantastic experience with a group of 4 ladies and 5 men ranging from 19 - 56 years old, we summitted successfully at 7am on 31st July.

Summit day was a huge challenge to walk for 14 hours on just 1.5 hours sleep and ascend 1400m before dropping down 2800m. We started at 11.30pm and walked through the night to arrive at the top and watch the sun rise over Africa.

My personal highlight of the climb was the scramble up Barranco Wall. But the best part was the phenomenal team of porters and guides. They truly are inspirational - constantly encouraging everyone, working together, and the definition of teamwork. One of their many chants throughout the climb ... "one team, one dream".

Our Principal, Mr Bennett, is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this summer. As you can imagine, phone signal is poor, but he is sending us updates when he can. We wish him well and lots of luck in his adventure.

UPDATE from Mr Bennett:
We arrived safely in Moshi at lunchtime on Saturday 25 July before meeting most of our fellow travellers and our chief guide.

Being immersed into the Tanzanian culture for an afternoon was very interesting and was topped off with goat for dinner.

Following an early night, we headed out early Sunday to the welcome gate for the National Park and the start of our climb of Africa's tallest mountain. Let the fun begin!

It has been a busy first week of the summer holiday at Brooklands. We have had lots of wonderful Contractors onsite working hard to keep our building looking it's best. Our cafe is having a little upgrade and re-fresh and is looking great, the building and windows have had a much needed full clean and the new branding is starting to take shape. Although we are very sad to see our Walton High logo being changed, we are very excited to see our vision for Brooklands Academy come to life over the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who is working so hard to support us. More updates soon.

✨ As we wrap up another busy and successful academic year, we would like to take a moment to recognise the fantastic effort and achievements of our students. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished. We would also like to thank our students' families for their continued support throughout the year. ✨

To our Year 11 and Post 16 students who are leaving us this summer, we wish you every success as you move on to the next stage of your journey. Whether you are continuing your studies, starting an apprenticeship, entering employment or pursuing other exciting opportunities, we are proud of everything you have achieved and look forward to hearing about your future successes. πŸŒŸπŸŽ“

We are also excited to welcome our new Year 7 students in September as they begin the next chapter of their education with us. We can't wait to meet you and help you settle into life at Brooklands. 😊

We wish all of our students, families and staff a happy, safe and relaxing summer break. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and, hopefully, some more sunshine! β˜€οΈπŸŒ΄
