Thank you, Wolverton and Greenleys Community Youth Council, for inviting us to be part of your ‘Try Out’ Day yesterday. Kudos to Chris Madeley and his hard-working team for making it such an enjoyable day out for all who came along to ‘try out’ local community activities - including aikido!

The end of the day at Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council’s excellent ‘Try Out’ Day on the recreation ground! Lots of enquiries and people trying out aikido - drop in to our regular training session in Wolverton Scout Hall on Saturday and ‘try us out’ (first session always free!).

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Western Road Recreational Ground in Wolverton on Saturday as part of Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council's "Try Out" Day for local community groups and sports clubs! We'll be there from 11.00 am - 3.00 pm demonstrating some of the aikido that we do as part of our family-centred martial arts club, as well as giving parents and their youngsters a chance to join in! Come along to say hello and find out more!
Ten of us on the mat this afternoon, which is pretty good for August! And great to welcome Jennifer Moakes and Tim, and Vikram Mehta and Suviksha back after their holidays. We worked on footwork drills and the basic kata, and Richard and Alfie were also working on the ten counters which they’ll need for their gradings at the end of next month. We had time at the end for a few bouts of kakarigeiko, which is light unstructured freeplay.
Small numbers on the mat this afternoon (hey, it’s August!), but some nice light kakarigeiko to finish off the session 😊
