Looksmaxxing is an online trend focused on improving physical appearance, particularly among boys and young men.

While some content centres on grooming, skincare, diet and exercise, other parts of the trend can promote questionable advice, extreme practices and unrealistic expectations.

Our latest guide explores key concerns, including:
• Pressure around male appearance and body image
• Misleading or potentially dangerous advice
• Obsessive behaviours and declining self-worth
• Mental health concerns
• Exposure to increasingly extreme online communities

It also shares practical advice for parents and educators on recognising looksmaxxing terminology, noticing changes in behaviour and starting supportive conversations about appearance, influencers and online expectations.

Our latest guide supports parents, carers and educators in understanding the trend and recognising when appearance-focused content may be becoming harmful.

The guide explores:
• The targeting of male insecurities and body image concerns
• Misleading advice and extreme appearance-focused practices
• Links to obsessive behaviours and mental health difficulties
• How increasingly extreme online communities can influence young people
• Warning signs, terminology and changes in behaviour to look out for

With clear, practical advice, the resource helps adults open supportive conversations about appearance, influencers and unrealistic expectations.

🌟 School Council 2026-27 🌟

A huge congratulations to our new School Councillors for this year! 🎉

Last week, children from across the school demonstrated great courage and confidence by standing in front of their classmates to deliver a speech explaining why they would make an excellent School Councillor. Following thoughtful discussions and voting by their peers, we are delighted to announce our newly elected representatives!

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part in the election process. Whether elected or not, every candidate showed bravery, enthusiasm and a commitment to making our school even better.

We look forward to seeing our School Council in action this year and hearing their ideas for helping our school community continue to thrive. 👏✨

🎨🌳 A Reminder About Our Art Exhibition! 🌳🎨

Just a little reminder about our fantastic art event taking place today! Every child has been involved and has artwork on display around the church. Our children at St Mary’s Wavendon have worked incredibly hard on their artwork, and we would love to see as many of you as possible there to enjoy it! 🖼️✨

Apologies that the event location is currently showing as Moulsoe/Newport Pagnell, we’re not sure why this is happening and it won’t let us change it!

📍 St Mary’s Church Wavendon, Walton Road, Wavendon, Milton Keynes, MK17 8LW.
⏰ 2pm-5pm

We’d love to see as many of you as possible drop in and celebrate the children’s fantastic work together! 💛🎨
