Good morning
I hope you are all well and had a good weekend.
Community Power Club:
We have been contacted by MK Community Energy, who we partnered with to install our solar panels last year. They are looking for volunteers from 15 households to try out a new Community Power Club which will enable households to benefit from discounted electricity which has been locally generated and locally consumed power. If you are interested, please check out this link: https://mkcommunityenergy.co.uk/community-power-club-pilot/
The first 15 suitable applications will be eligible to take part in the pilot.
This week we have a number of trips and visits planned which you will see listed below.
Geography Field Trips:
Our Year 11s will be completing their Geography field trip for their GCSE exams which was postponed during the extreme heat last term. They will be out and about in our local area completing valuable research. Can I ask parent to make sure our Year 11s come with suitable wet weather gear as the weather is looking a little more changeable this week.
MK Theatre Trip:
On Thursday our Drama department are taking Year 11 Drama students to Mk Theatre to see the production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night Time. This is part of the GCSE live theatre experience all students are required to meet. However, I am sure the students will enjoy the production too.
London Gallery Art Trip:
Our 6th Form Art students are off to London on Friday to take a tour around the art galleries. Thank you to all of our staff for supporting what looks to be a very exciting day.
2028 Ski Trip:
Mr Lambert will be providing more information very soon about an amazing opportunity for students to take part in a ski trip. Our last ski trip took place in 2019, so we are all very excited to be able to bring this back.
Open day and Open Evening:
On Wednesday 14th October, we will be holding our annual Open Day for parents who would like to come and see how our normal day works. Please book in with Mrs Craney for a place. This will be followed on Thursday 15th October with our Open Evening for prospective Year 6 students and parents. Doors to our Sports Hall will open at 6pm with tours around the school until 8pm. We look forward to welcoming everyone on Thursday.
Have a good week
Mrs Lawson
