Keep those babies safe in the heat by not covering prams and car seats with blankets of any thickness. Umbrella sun shades offer the safest sun protection for your little one.

It’s important to keep your baby cool when you’re out and about. Attach a clip-on sunshade to the pram to keep your baby out of direct sunlight and monitor their temperature by feeling their tummy or the back of their neck.

Prams and buggies should not be covered with blankets, cloths or any cover that prevents the air from circulating. Covering a pram or buggy with a blanket could lead to overheating, which increases the chance of SIDS.

A gentle reminder for those feeding small people whilst the weather is warm...

There’s nothing better to do on a rainy Friday evening than decorate home made cup cakes. My little friend luckily agreed to put her hair up to avoid icing in places we don’t really need it. My kitchen however will be covered in sprinkles for the rest of the weekend. At least it kept this one amused for half an hour!

It’s been a very busy morning on the postnatal ward today, giving breastfeeding support to new families. I even sneaked a couple of newborn cuddles too 😍.
We’ve had CQC in too doing their inspection of the hospital today. Hopefully they’ve witnessed the wonderful care and support we’re all trying to give new mums, babies and their families. It really is such a privilege to help mums during such a special time. Roll on September when I’ll be switching my Peer Supporter roll to Student Midwife!

Ah my gorgeous babies were very clever and knew exactly what I wanted for Mother’s Day this year.
