💥 Shenley Wood Campus - Ice lolly sale in aid of the neonatal unit at MKUH 💥

This Thursday the JAT will be on the playground at Shenley Wood at 1.10pm and 3.00pm selling ice lollies after school to raise money for this important charity.

£1 cash (or more depending on how generous you're feeling) per lolly.

Ice lolly sale will happen Thursday 2 July at the Oxley Park campus.

🌼 Our Learning in Reception🌼

This week in Reception, we have been busy exploring plants, flowers, and the work of artists!

🎨 We created beautiful artwork inspired by Matisse, using coloured paper to make swirling patterns and designs.

🌸 We practised our observational drawing skills by carefully looking at flowers and drawing what we could see. We also developed our vocabulary by describing flowers and talking about their colours, shapes, and features.

🐌 We enjoyed a fascinating discussion about slugs, thinking about what would make a good shell for a slug and explaining our ideas.

🌱 As part of our learning about growing things, we investigated different seeds and made predictions about what they might grow into.

🌷 We also learned about how to care for plants and flowers, discussing what they need to stay healthy and grow strong.

The children have shown great curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful discussion throughout all of these activities. Well done, Reception!

Wow, wow, wow – 6 medals yesterday, our best result in years! 🏅

All 24 athletes were amazing across both track and field events. It was a pleasure to watch them perform at such a high level in Milton Keynes.

A huge thank you to Miss Snow, Mr Gould and Miss Marshall for giving up their time to come and support the athletes throughout the day.

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to another week at Oxley Park Academy.

This week our assembly will focus on two of our core British Values: mutual respect and tolerance. We will explore what it means to value others, listen to diverse perspectives, and celebrate the unique cultures and backgrounds that make our school community so vibrant. Together, we will learn how simple everyday actions can build a kinder, more inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, welcome, and heard.

Today, we are looking forward to welcoming Lennox class families to the first of their re-arranged parents' evenings between 3:30pm and 5:00pm. The second evening will take place on Wednesday 24 June from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.

On Wednesday, Year 3 will be heading to Bucks Railway Centre for an exciting educational visit. The children will explore a variety of historic trains and railway exhibits, discover what travel was like in the past, and enjoy hands-on learning experiences linked to their curriculum. We hope they have a fantastic time and come back with lots of interesting facts to share.

Author Matt Lucas will be visiting the Oxley Park campus on Wednesday. The children will enjoy an exciting presentation where he will talk about his career and his most recent book, ‘Bobland’. After the assembly, he will sign books for children who have pre-purchased a copy. This is a great opportunity to develop our pupils' love of reading and inspire them through an award-winning author.

On Thursday we are looking forward to hosting a parent information evening for our new Reception parents. The two sessions will run as follows:

Shenley Wood campus – 5.00pm
Oxley Park campus – 6.00pm

We look forward to welcoming our new Reception families to the school in September and are excited to support our newest learners as they begin this important and memorable stage of their education.
