SMK Gateway: an education charity offering educational opportunities to young people in Milton Keynes

https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/smkswimathon2025

SIEVEMK Gateway is a charity dedicated to bringing hope to our communities in Milton Keynes. We seek to connect with local women and disadvantaged young people, and run programmes which will engage, train and provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to enter work or further education. We started out in March 2007 as a Learning Centre primarily providing support to 13-18 year old in

GCSE and A levels season begins on the 4th of May and runs through June. This is a big moment for so many students and also for the parents and tutors who have supported every step along the way.
To every student sitting these exams, you have already done so much to get here. The early mornings, the revision sessions, the moments of doubt and the moments of progress all count. Take each exam one paper at a time and trust what you know. You are more prepared than you think.
To parents, your encouragement, patience and steady support matter more than you may realise. A calm word, a bit of reassurance and simply being there can make all the difference.
To tutors and teachers, thank you for the time, care and dedication you have invested. The impact of your guidance goes far beyond the exam hall.
At SMK Gateway, we believe in building confidence as much as knowledge. We are proud to support students through their GCSE and A levels journey and beyond, helping them stay focused, resilient and ready for what comes next.
Wishing every student clarity, confidence and calm during this exam season.

This week is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do at SMK Gateway.

With National Careers Week, Open Education Week and World Teen Mental Wellness Day all falling at the start of March, the message is clear. Education is not just about passing exams. It is about preparing for the future, widening access and protecting the wellbeing of our young people.

Careers matter.
Access to quality education matters.
Teen mental wellness matters.

At SMK Gateway, we are committed to supporting the whole journey. We guide students academically, mentor them towards future pathways and encourage confidence and resilience along the way.

Every young person deserves opportunity.
Every young person deserves support.

If you are a parent looking for structured academic guidance or a student ready to take the next step, this is your week to connect with us.

Let us build futures together.

National Apprenticeship Week is here and we are proud to celebrate the life changing impact apprenticeships have on individuals, families and communities across the UK.

At SMK Gateway, we see every day how the right support, guidance and opportunity can build confidence, unlock talent and open doors that once felt out of reach. Apprenticeships are not just qualifications. They are real pathways into meaningful careers, personal growth and long term success.

This week is about recognising the determination of learners who choose to invest in their future, the employers who believe in developing talent, and the educators and mentors who walk alongside them every step of the way.

We are passionate about helping people discover their strengths, build practical skills and move forward with purpose. Whether someone is taking their first step into the world of work, changing direction, or developing new skills, apprenticeships create powerful opportunities to earn, learn and grow at the same time.

If you or someone you support is thinking about the next step, this is the perfect time to explore how apprenticeships can shape a brighter future.

Let’s continue working together to raise aspirations, remove barriers and create real chances for success.

Today is Results Day, and we want to take a moment to recognise and acknowledge everyone who has put in the hard work to work towards achieving their English and Maths qualifications.

For many, this has meant showing determination, resilience and commitment while resetting or retaking exams, and that effort truly matters. Results are only one part of the journey, but the willingness to keep going and try again speaks volumes about your character.

Well done to everyone who took part. We recognise your effort, we are proud of your perseverance, and we wish you every success as you continue to move forward.

🙂
