🔺 NEWS: Message from Dr Anita Devi 🔺

Our theme this new term is focusing primarily on and … but we also have some wider changes:

🌟 People who joined the team in Summer, that we kept on the down-low: Chris Holmwood as COO Chris Lefcovitch & Nicola Lace

🌟 Valued teams members who are moving onto different pastures, with our profound gratitude: Jenny Bowers, Steve Pendleton & Giles Delaney

and …

💥 … on 31.12.2026 CIC will cease trading. Not for financial reasons, but Faith and professional moral conscience.

This is the 7th enterprise I have led, but TeamADL has been the most significant intentional business model. Over 19 years of consultancy, I have led through 2 recessions, the 2008 global financial crash & COVID19, without grants, loans, seed / crowd funding or furlough. This is the financial strength of our strategic & visionary model. Throughout COVID19, we offered a 2-year FREE frontline support service to schools & colleges 🌐 This, plus many other activities led to us receiving the National MAT Giveback Award in 2023. This was not out first award nor our last, but it is the one that reflects our purpose & intent most accurately. Being an Edupreneur is not easy, but it is something I have enjoyed & hopefully made some difference to the lives of others (children, young people, families and colleagues).

The transition:

Over the next term, it is business as usual, with many projects & commitments in the pipeline. Additionally, Chris H and I are adopting a specific focus as a closure gift to the sector. Both of us joined the education sector, many decades ago. We arrived from a place of joy & love. We are still in that place – with Joy & Love. The Joy of Learning remains (for me) my anchor, and it is Love for children and young people that drives us.

The current team and TeamADL ‘content’ assets:

I am in conversations with global / national delivery partners who share our values & business model to ‘adopt’ the current team (if they choose to) & also some of our content assets. It is not a take over or merger. TeamADL is closing, but who we have nurtured & what we have created over the years still has potency in supporting practitioners and shaping the sector. These conversations are on-going.

What next?

I am not closing TeamADL with a role to walk into or a plan. Nor am I am retiring ❣ I am waiting & watching to see where the road takes me.

I am grateful for the people I have connected with along the way – the collaborators, the visionaries, the encouragers, the inquisitive and even the blockers!

We started informing some stakeholders of these changes at the end of the summer term, but we weren’t able to contact everyone. Hopefully our paths will cross over this coming term.

Part 2/3 👇🏽 How to we compare like-for-like?

It is 15 years since the last SEND Reforms in England was launched and one of the challenges the DfE has failed to address is creating a mechanism for parents, local authorities and inspectorate to compare like-for-like, whilst retaining the individually of expression to serve each local community.

They were shown this approach during the last SEND Reforms (2011-2018). However, to adopt such an approach would require:

· a move away from the tick box culture

· a deeper trust of ALL stakeholders in the system

· a flexible and creative approach to developing a continuum of provision.

The Provision Review Methodology (created by ) is a flexible tool, through which constructive dialogue across stakeholders produces a two-page document that ensures transparency and accountability of provision (year-on-year). The approach works in ALL types of settings and therefore allows for better comparative modelling against ‘Value for Money’ (VfM) criteria https://lnkd.in/eExBDBvT

The Provision Review takes just one day in total to deliver and a shift in culture / impact is experienced within 6 weeks of completion. It not only reduces workload, but also joins the dots across the spectrum of teaching, leadership and management tasks consistently for ALL learners. It further provides accuracy of information to local authorities and service providers commissioned to ‘add value’ in supporting the education of some of our most vulnerable, including intersectionality between different types of needs.

It is not the expectation of that every setting will adopt this, though it certainly provides a flexible, coherent and consistent approach for comparison between different types of settings.

My purpose in sharing this today: as we move forward, ALL settings will need to bridge the transition from the current world to that which eventually will need to be defined in law. Therefore, Leaders are advised to start looking around at different approaches; comparing and contrasting and seeking out the most effective to drive change, with minimal disruption and confusion.
