Maths education is not a game of “guess what I’m thinking”.
If as a teacher or examiner you want students to round numbers in a particular way, and you don’t say so in the question, that’s your problem, not the student’s problem.
It’s not a student’s job to guess what a teacher or examiner was thinking when they wrote a question, and it doesn’t matter what the mark scheme says or what the teacher thinks the correct answer is.
Sometimes, as a teacher, you have to just say “actually yes, that is an acceptable answer, I hadn’t thought of that”.

What use are quadratic equations?
They can be used to create parabolic curves and in engineering that means you can make a large covered space from concrete without the need supporting columns, which is great for bus shelters as buses can manoeuvre around without having to avoid them.
Other uses for quadratic equations include designing cylindrical cans and to hold the most liquid with the least material (such as fizzy drinks cans and tinned goods) amongst many other optimisation problems, and creating satellite dishes and solar barbecues which would as reflected sunlight to cook rather than traditional fuels.

This is a times table trainer I helped to design several summers ago.
It’s not the easiest because I designed it to only allow students 4 seconds per question which forces them to memorise rather than calculate but it’s a useful way for students to improve their maths free of charge with a bit of effort.
As you answer questions it automatically adjusts the following questions to take account of times tables you already know and ones you need to work on more.
Math Trainer - Multiplication
Get in some serious multiplication training. Responds to your answers, so it trains your weaknesses.

This is the calculator I’d recommend for Maths students in secondary school.
If you have an older casio model already no need to change it, but if you’re buying a new calculator, this is what I’d get.
