🌟 Monday Spotlight - Year 1 🌟

We've had an incredible start to Year 1!

In our Marvellous Me Expedition, we have been exploring portraits. We were inspired by the work of Arcimboldo and created our own self-portraits using salt dough and natural materials. We then took inspiration from Van Gogh to draw and paint our self-portraits. We have also been exploring identity and belonging in our reading and writing sessions using the books: Family and Me, This is Our House and Super Me.

In addition to this, we have been learning about our bodies in science. So far, we have located the main parts of our bodies and in our challenge time, explored if older children always had bigger feet.

We have been so impressed with the children's professionalism when using mathematical resources to understand place value within 10. Well done Year 1!

Lost property is outside the main office today. Please come along and check for any of your child's items.

Please can we also take this opportunity to remind you to name ALL of your child's clothing and items (such as water bottles and lunchboxes). We have had an extraordinary amount of unnamed lost property handed in since the beginning of term.

Thank you!
