While the UK is in lock down our Early Years community continue to work tirelessly for the children & families they serve.

No social distancing, no masks,
no PPE. Sadly no priority for the vaccine either.

They comfort & support, cuddle & love the nations children. They educate and nurture the next generation!

They allow parents & carers to work from home secure in the knowledge their children are safe & well looked after. They allow our front line workers to go out to work & keep emergency services & essential facilities running
They allow parents and carers to home school older children without the distraction of younger siblings!

These are NOT babysitters, these are dedicated teams of professionals in nurseries up and down the country, Childminders & nannies who continue to offer love, safety & comfort in a year our children need it the MOST.

Let’s open our eyes, minds and hearts to a dedicated & forgotten profession that are doing their part in this crisis.

It is so disheartening to keep seeing posts by people who don't or never have worked in the early years sector calling for nurseries and other early years settings to close 😔
This will cause serious harm to already struggling, underfunded and overworked nursery settings and childminders like my self and literally thousands like me.
Myself and thousands like me are profoundly grateful to be able to carry on working right now because for me and childminders like me this is not just our livelihood, its not just our job, or our income. It is alot more than that, for us its a massive privilege that the parents of the children we care for have an untold amount of trust for what we provide.
That we will care for and love, cuddle, sit them on our knees and read stories, encourage their development, we assist parents with potty training, and advise on a range of areas of learning that helps them grow, we teach the children in their most formative years all about kindness, sharing manners and encourage skills to equip them for their reception school years things that we adults do without a second thought like zipping up coats and putting shoes on.
We do this because we love it and we want to be able to continue to provide this service not just through this lockdown but for years and years to come.
Please don't close us we are essential and the children deserve to hang on to some normality through this crisis.
