Last Friday, our Year 5 & 6 Mixed Football team competed in the first round of the EFL Kids Cup—a tournament we won last year, which earned us the chance to represent MK Dons at the regional stages in Swindon. The team were fantastic in the group stages, topping their table and qualifying for the afternoon semi-finals. They played brilliantly but conceded an early goal and, despite creating chances, couldn’t quite find the equaliser, losing 1–0. They then won the 3rd/4th place play-off, finishing 3rd overall—a great achievement.

On Monday, we played our final fixtures in the Year 5 & 6 MK Basketball League. Both our boys and girls have performed really well throughout the league phase, finishing 3rd and earning bronze medals. This result also qualifies us for the Cup Finals Night on Monday, where the children will again compete for medals. The top two teams on the night will also get the opportunity to play at half-time in an MK Breakers professional game later this month.

On Wednesday, we took a group of children to the Indoor Olympics event at MK College. The event was great fun and gave the children the chance to try a variety of activities. They each came away with a medal too!

Yesterday, we attended the Year 5 & 6 Swimming Gala at Bletchley Leisure Centre—an event we won last year and hoped to repeat with our strong team of swimmers. The children placed in the top four in every race and achieved a number of 1st and 2nd place finishes. Although we didn’t secure any overall medals this time, the team performed incredibly well and should be very proud.

As part of Remembrance Day, children created their own poppies and planted them on the school field. Together, they turned the space into a beautiful field of poppies as tribute.
