Earlier this week our U10 boys enjoyed a morning of expert coaching from Warwick School rugby staff, developing their skills in tackling, rucking, passing and game play before refuelling with a well-earned lunch.

The afternoon festival saw the team go unbeaten, with some fantastic rugby and huge improvements from everyone throughout the day.

A special congratulations to Jesse, who was awarded our Player of the Day for an outstanding performance.

Our Nursery children have been exploring the colour green as part of their Colours topic, using delicious green apples to make their very own apple turnovers.

As well as enjoying a tasty treat, the children were developing their fine motor skills as they handled, filled and folded the pastry, while also learning about following instructions, exploring textures and working independently.

An amazing result for our maths team!

Two children from Year 5 and two from Year 6 represented MKPS at a maths challenge held at Papplewick School. They tackled logic puzzles, crossnumber puzzles and mathematical questions, working brilliantly together and thinking quickly throughout.

We’re delighted to share that they came 2nd out of 9 competing teams! A huge well done to all four children — we’re very proud of you!

We are delighted to announce that, together, we raised an incredible £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support!

Our U9s enjoyed their first fixtures of the term last week.

The U9A & B girls enjoyed their first hockey fixture, with all the girls in the year group representing the school. They were were mixed into three ability teams to play against Akeley Wood As & Bs and went unbeaten throughout the afternoon. A brilliant start to their hockey season!

Meanwhile, our U9 boys played their first game of the season, taking part in a joint A & B rugby fixture. The boys played really well, showing clear improvements throughout the game and finishing with a convincing 10–5 win.

Well done to all our U9s – a great afternoon of sport and teamwork.

What a lovely morning we had at MKPS! Our Macmillan Coffee Morning brought our school family together to enjoy plenty of delicious cakes, refreshments and, most importantly, a good catch-up. Thank you to our parents and staff who baked and donated such a fabulous selection of cakes, and to everyone who came along to support this very special cause.

Special mention goes to our Parents Association who helped run the event with us and congratulations to our raffle winner, who went home with a beautiful cake, baked and donated by one of our parents. We’ll be announcing our grand total raised next week, so watch this space!

At the end of the summer term, many of our LAMDA students took their LAMDA exams, which develop confidence, communication and performance skills through acting and speaking. We are delighted that every one of our students achieved either a High Merit or Distinction!

Congratulations too to our Arts Award students, who are working towards their Arts Award certification through Trinity College, celebrating their creativity and achievements across our Dance and Ballet programmes.

Sometimes the greatest moments at MKPS happen after the 'working' day has finished.

Children can be seen playing football or cricket, or completing homework, whilst others will be sitting together talking, reflecting on their school day or just enjoying each other’s company, talking, laughing, playing and making the most of being together.

Meanwhile, some of the children are taking part in one of our many after school activities. Each week, we will showcase one of the numerous opportunities available to the children after school.

This week, we are taking a look into Mr Driver's 'Natural World' session. Last week, the children foraged for sloes, blackberries and rosehips, which, this week have been expertly turned into delicious jams and syrups to help get us through the winter months!

This week, our Reception children have enjoyed exploring the Eco Domes and 'The Bank', looking closely at all the wonderful things we have been nurturing in our outside growing spaces.

When the children weren’t sure of a plant’s name, Mrs O’Neill helped them read the labels so they could identify what they had discovered. They had lots of fun spotting a colourful variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers!

A great start to the new school year with our first sports fixtures!

The girls went undefeated at the Bloxham School Hockey Festival, with wins against Kitebrook, Bilton Grange and Thorngrove.

In boys’ rugby, the As had an unbeaten afternoon, winning three and drawing three, including wins over Beachborough, Kitebrook and The Croft. The Bs also secured wins against Kitebrook and Beachborough, with three closely fought matches against Bilton Grange, Swanbourne and Wi******er House.

A brilliant first set of fixtures with lots of positives to build on.
