The Shape Your Skills Award has been shortlisted for the Teachwire Teach Primary Awards 2026 πŸ’«

Hearing from pupils that they feel more confident to have a turn in the playground, or to offer ideas in class, or work with a group of peers they don't usually - these are just some of the stories we've heard that make this award so special.

A MASSIVE thank you to the schools, teachers and pupils who have delivered the Shape Your Skills Award and shared their experiences with us. Your feedback continues to help us learn and grow the programme.

Our Content Officer role isn't about sitting behind a desk creating content all day.

It's about talking to learners.

Listening to educators.

Visiting centres.

Discovering stories.

And helping more people understand the impact of our work.

If that sounds like the kind of content role you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.

Young people don't develop leadership skills by being told about leadership.

They develop them by doing.

That's why, for more than 45 years, we've helped schools create practical opportunities for learners to lead, communicate, collaborate and make a difference in their communities.

If you're attending The Festival of Education 2026, come and chat to us about how schools are building confidence, resilience and real-world skills through meaningful leadership experiences.

🍎 Today is Thank a Teacher Day.

And while it's a chance to celebrate the profession, it's also a reminder of something we don't talk about enough:

The most powerful lessons pupils learn often aren't found in a scheme of work.

They're the moments that build confidence.
The opportunities that help a child discover what they're good at.
The experiences that help them find their voice, work with others, and believe they can make a difference.

In other words: the things that shape who they become.

That's why we are looking forward to attending the PiXL Primary Conference tomorrow and speaking with school leaders about the Shape Your Skills Award; a programme designed to help young people develop the core leadership skills they'll carry long after they've left primary school.

But before we get there, we'd love to hear from you.

πŸ‘‡ Thinking back to your own school days, which teacher helped shape your skills the most?

Not necessarily the teacher who taught your favourite subject.

The one who helped you become who you are.

Tag them if you can. Tell us what they did. Let's give some well-deserved recognition to the people whose influence lasts a lifetime.
