Whilst the coaching courses aren’t specific requirements for the .ski stamp anymore, they are valuable in both adding to the hours of training and more importantly to our learning from a different perspective.

Freestyle has no set path and coaches have to learn to apply their tools to make decisions for their athletes in order to effectively develop skills, agility and coordination at different age groups, steadily building the fundamentals for potential competition. The pool of information and experience available on both Freestyle and Race coaching courses can add to your overall ability as a teacher and coach and personally I’d always reccomemend pros to take at least one coaching course along their journey.

Lastly, we welcome Kieran Kerr to the Educator team for Freestyle. He brings with him a high level of competitve experience along a growing coaching career, and while this may be the start of his Educator development, the future of this discipline for IASI is brighter with Kieran set to build upon this starting point.
