Wow!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to the lovely and very wonderful children and parents for all your lovely gifts. I feel very blessed and overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity.

I absolutely love what I do and it’s always a pleasure whatever the weather even when it’s absolutely horrid out there to keep everyone safe.

A very Happy Christmas to all the staff, children and parents and here’s to a better 2021!! X # # # # # # # # # # # # # #
Let’s found near school Friday afternoon. Please pm me if lost
I hope it's ok to share, however if not please remove Willen ♡
There are lots of families struggling at the moment, more so than ever before... if you are one of these, there are lots of people out there offering support x
To All the staff at Willen Primary
👨‍🏫🌟🤩🙌🧑‍🎓🥇🎓📚✅🔤👩‍🏫
So, in these mad crazy times, when all we can do is eat, drink, entertain the children, sleep, eat, drink etc, we may not be thinking about anything now other than how we will get the through the next 24 hours, we certainly won’t be considering we may have a 2 year old that needs a preschool place, a 3 year old that is desperate to meet new friends and start their early education journey? We may be furloughed from work, we may be a stay at home parent/carer (just as important) lots of parents/carers are in the same place, knowing that at some point you want to go and look around a preschool, meet the teams, understand what’s available for September, Buttons have updated their website to show just what we can offer you and your little ones, whilst we can’t give you the guided tour, we do invite you to read the amazing testimonials from our families, peruse our outstanding Ofsted reports, ask as many questions as you would like to. For May and June we are offering free registrations for ALL September registrations, all children will also receive a new “school utility bag” this is a new addition to our uniform range, if you are recommended by a friend of an existing Button, both children will receive an additional gift, Buttons are a trusted provider of choice in Milton Keynes and Bucks, have a look what we can do for you. For more information or just a chat please call Tracie on 07973158368 or email [email protected]. Stay Home, Be Safe and be prepared xx
Thank you to all the Key workers out there, a massive thanks tbWillen for all your support through this difficult time! Lots of love Harley and family!
Here is our big clap. Disco lights, lots of households clapping and music ♡♡
🎶If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you🎶
Hey!!!!! Hope you are all ok? Hope our Buttons are all well, smiling and most of all Loud? After all although this is unprecedented times why should you be special?? 🙂. Although we are closed, although all staff are trying to be mummies and carers as well as shoppers and in some cases cage wrestlers we want you to know, that each and every one of you is no more than a second away from our minds, I can’t being to explain how this feels, to you, me or our charges, what the outcome might be, how it feels? but I can tell you this.... Children deserve the best, and that’s across every spectrum, the little 2020 people who saw Covid 19 at its worst will be the MPs, the dr’s, nurses, carers, business owners, and even the prime minister... so don’t be sad, don’t be negative, don’t be beaten, get up, shower, dress, slap on the lipstick, straighten those locks, smile, wave, help others.. teach our children that 2020 is history!! And one day they will share their story and reinvent a new lesson # #
Some years ago we visited Tynham village in Dorset. In 1943 it was taken over by the government for military training due to its proximity to the south coast. The villagers had to leave. They left this note on the church door. Sadly theh never returned. I cried when we were there and i read it. Today i feel i actually understand some of the ferlings they must have been going through - except we will return. Thank you to all the staff at Willen who do so much, not just for our children, but for their families too. We will miss you, but will look forward to the day when all this is over and we can return. ❤
Just read the latest update. THANK YOU, you are all doing a FANTASTIC job. Massively appreciate how hard it must be & am very grateful that you are keeping things normal for the kids. Probably only normal till 5pm tonight, but such is life these days!
Hi, is it definitely casual clothes for St David’s house kids tomorrow? I don’t remember knowing about this before news letter on Friday & kids aren’t sure 😄
Thursday 27th Feb... Buttons will be holding an open afternoon... 1pm-2.15pm. Drop in for a tour, stay and play and a chance to see what we can offer you and your preschooler, free registration on the day with a free polo shirt, we will be registering for April 2020 and September 2020, all finding places guaranteed and opportunity to secure additional private places, please call 01525 270501 to register interest. Xx

Volunteers needed!

We need a few more helpers for the discos

And more importantly we need a few more people to be in the WSA next year.

Our Chair, Secretary and Treasurer plus another longstanding member are stepping down and unfortunately this leaves a VERY small team.

I’m sure you appreciate that school staff do not have the time to organise, resource and man the events that traditionally Willen children have experienced - discos, movie nights, fetes, Easter egg hunts, ice cream sales etc.

It isn’t hours of work every single week but it is too much for a few people to take on. As a registered charity we need a named person in each of these roles. We also need to keep accounts and manage the payments in and out.

You might be someone who can help man our in school events, the after school events or who can’t attend but can help organise and buy in your spare time. You might purely give your expertise with money matters (treasurer) or come to meeting to write minutes and help with ideas (secretary). Every little helps!

It really is rewarding to see happy faces in school. Not only at events but when they see the results of your hard work fundraising (play equipment, class xmas presents, the new library etc).

If you feel that you can be of any help please do drop us a message with any questions.

Come join Team Willen 😁👇

All good things have to come to an end…4 of our members will be stepping down at the end of the year. Some because of work commitments and some because their children are leaving for ‘big school!’

If you’d like your children to continue having discos, fetes, pantomimes and the opportunities/resources the WSA provide please consider joining us. We can not put on these events without a team of people willing to give up their time to organise them.

It doesn’t take hours and hours but we will need some volunteers. If you’d like to chat to anyone about joining, grab one of us at the fete tomorrow.

Don't forget the Harry Potter dress down day on Friday!👇

Harry Potter Themed Dress Down 16th June

To get ready for the Harry Potter themed school fete on the 30th June we will be having a Harry Potter themed dress down day on Friday 16th June. We are asking for tombola prizes (e.g. smellies, confectionary, candles etc) OR £1 donation in exchange for the dress down. This can be cash or on school money.

Please don't worry about buying expensive costumes - if you're stuck for a good DIY costume think cats, owls, womping willow (brown and leafy), golden snitch (shiny and winged), or patronus (blue or silver). And if you are really stuck you could come as a muggle!

Photos from Willen Primary School's post 09/06/2023

Year 2, 3, and 4 enjoyed a puppet show in school this week. The show focussed on the importance of recycling, looking after the planet, and on working together as a team. All of the sets and props were built from recycled materials! We would like to thank Arts1 for visiting us and wish them luck with the rest of their performances.

09/06/2023

The WSA will be selling ice creams/ lollies at the end of the day on Friday

50p each - correct change if possible please!

We are so excited to discuss the progress your child has been making!

Huge thanks to Willen School Association (WSA) 💙 those year 6s deserved this!
We're so hugely proud of how all of the children approached this week. Well done guys 👏

It was an absolute pleasure to take this rather large delivery of pizzas to treat the Y6 children after their SATs tests today. They were all so polite and well mannered.
It was also a pleasure to take the left overs (yes I was surprised too!) around to the hardworking adults round school.

Totally deserved after this tasking week!

Every penny you spend at WSA events goes into extras that make the school an even nicer place to be. Whether that’s the big things like play equipment or libraries, or extra treats such as pantomimes or pizzas. So thank you so much to everyone that contributes money or time to our events ❤️

Thank you to Dominoes Pizza in Kingston for providing us with some extras.
