🌟 We are thrilled to be finalists! 🌟

Thornton College has been named a finalist for Best Use of Education Technology in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2026 for our innovative esports provision.

This recognition celebrates an incredible year in which our students helped create and deliver a national grassroots esports competition, welcoming prep and primary schools from across the UK. Through our student-led approach, girls have developed confidence, teamwork, leadership skills and a strong sense of belonging within computing and STEM.

We are especially proud that the framework developed at Thornton has been recognised by Microsoft as a model of best practice for Minecraft Education esports competitions in schools worldwide.

Being shortlisted for this prestigious national award is a wonderful acknowledgement of the inclusive, forward-thinking opportunities our students help to shape every day.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement. We are incredibly proud of what our students and staff have accomplished together! 💙

Congratulations to Sophia on being awarded the prestigious Army Officer Scholarship. 🌟

This remarkable achievement is the result of years of dedication, determination and hard work, beginning when Sophia first set her sights on this goal in Year 11. The rigorous selection process included psychometric testing, leadership and command tasks, interviews, written assessments, fitness testing and problem-solving exercises at the Army Officer Selection Board.

Sophia’s success is a testament to her resilience, leadership potential and commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud of all she has achieved and look forward to seeing where this exciting opportunity takes her next.

Congratulations Sophia! 👏
