🧊 Beat the 37°C heat - The Ice Rescue! 🧊

​It is going to be an absolute scorcher in Bletchley today! If you need a way to keep your little ones cool during the hottest part of the afternoon, we highly recommend setting up one of our nursery favourites.

​As you can see from this throwback photo, our little learners absolutely love an "Ice Rescue" challenge!

​Prep it now!

🔠 Grab a plastic tub, drop in some small plastic toys (letters, shapes, or figures work perfectly!), fill it with water, and pop it in the freezer this morning.

🧊 By the afternoon when the heat is peaking, pop the ice block in a washing-up bowl or a tray in the shade.

🔨 Give them some warm water in a squeezy bottle or a toy hammer, and let them "rescue" their toys!

​It is fantastic for sensory play, fine motor skills, and keeping them cool when it's too hot for the park.

Let's go on a garden scavenger hunt! 🌳🔍

​Getting outside and exploring is a wonderful way for our little learners to discover the world around them.

We challenge our nursery explorers to head out into the garden or over to the local park this week to find:

​🍂 A crunchy brown leaf
🪨 A smooth stone
🌼 A yellow flower
🌿 A tiny twig

☀️ Summer Play Events with MKPA!

​Looking for some local fun to keep the children entertained this week? ☀️🌳

​The Milton Keynes Play Association have released their schedule of Summer Play Events for this week (10th - 14th August), and it includes a stop right here in Bletchley at Leon Rec on Monday afternoon!

​From park play to slip & slides, there is loads going on across MK to keep them busy. (Just remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult!)

​Here at Eaton Mill Nursery, we know that play is the absolute best way for children to learn, grow and make sense of the world around them.

Did you know today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day? 🍪

​With the nursery closed for the summer break, baking is one of our favourite at-home activities to keep little hands busy!

Helping to measure out ingredients, stirring the bowl, and sneaking a few chocolate chips are brilliant ways to practice early counting and fine motor skills.

Little scientists at work! 🧪✨

​We love creating exciting sensory tuff trays like this one at Eaton Mill Nursery. By exploring with colored water, pipettes and measuring cylinders, our children are not just having a brilliant time making "potions" they are developing crucial early skills!

​Hands-on activities like this are fantastic for strengthening fine motor skills, practicing hand-eye coordination through pouring and scooping, and introducing early mathematical concepts like volume and capacity.

Learning through play is always the best way! 💦🎨

​To our amazing leavers heading off to big school in September - goodbye and good luck. We have loved watching you grow and learn with us, and we are going to miss you all so much. 🌟

​We also want to say a huge thank you for the incredibly generous gifts, cards and kind words the team received today. Alongside the lovely personal gifts staff received, we put all the shared chocolates and biscuits together for a big staff draw (as you can see in the photo!) to make sure the whole team got a well-deserved treat. We are feeling very spoilt and appreciated.
