Volunteers and gardeners needed….
Come and get some gentle exercise in the morning sunshine ☀️, meet new people and join the Kitchen Gardeners this Saturday at 10.30am and help plant cucumbers, courgettes and giant pumpkins 🎃

No experience necessary, tools - and possibly the best cake you’ll ever taste provided…..

The Lift Sir Herbert Leon garden grows! Ex SHL student Jodi, along with new volunteer Teresa, came along and helped volunteers plant 12 rows of Second Early potatoes 🥔.
Thank you Michael and Pat for the wonderful cake. And top work Cecelia for getting though that troublesome clay! We also managed to plant 12 rows of peas 🫛 and a rhubarb crown.

Another great day at the Lift Sir Herbert Leon Kitchen Garden. Four more fruit trees planted 🌳 a small cluster of broad beans planted and two of the large growing beds cleared and prepared ready for planting.

The orchard trees are all prepped and ready for planting at the Sir Herbert Leon Kitchen Garden - we also had a delivery of some extra topsoil - thank you for your top work George Davies Turf and delivery driver Jamie - tremendous skill and help!

The polytunnel strim-edges are now installed at the Sir Herbert Leon Kitchen Garden - the grass-cutting team can now do their thing without damaging the covering!

Who better to help you plan out a new community orchard than a senior lecturer at the Royal Agricultural University. We did a good job Emmanuel - thank you so much for you free time and efforts. What a top guy!
