🥋⭐ **Meet our new instructor, Trudy!** ⭐🥋

Please join us in welcoming Trudy to the Star Martial Arts teaching team! 🎉

After many years of training alongside her family, Trudy achieved her black belt in June and has now become a qualified instructor, a wonderful next step in her martial arts journey!
Her dedication and perseverance are an inspiration to our students, showing how learning and hard work can open doors to new opportunities. We’re proud to have her on our team, helping others build confidence, develop their skills and enjoy their own journey. 💪

🥋 SEPTEMBER LESSON OF THE MONTH: CONFIDENCE ⭐

This month at Star Martial Arts we are focusing on CONFIDENCE.

Confidence isn't about believing you will always get everything right. It is having the courage to try, to learn from mistakes and to keep moving forward.

September is also the start of a new school year for many of our students. New classes, new teachers, new challenges and sometimes even a new school can feel exciting but also a little daunting. We want our students to remember that they don't have to feel completely confident before trying something new confidence grows every time they give something a go.

Throughout September we will be encouraging our students to stand tall, speak positively, try difficult techniques and recognise how much they are improving, skills they can take with them from the martial arts class into school and everyday life.

Parents, ask your child after class: “What did you do today that made you feel proud?” 💪🥋

Wishing all our students a fantastic start to the new school year! 📚⭐

Talent can give you a start. EFFORT keeps you moving. 🥋

Every kick, pattern, drill and mistake is part of learning.

You don't have to be the best student in the room today.
Just give better effort than yesterday. ⭐💪

🥋⭐ **WELCOME BACK TO STAR MARTIAL ARTS, LIAM!** ⭐🥋

We are very happy to welcome, Liam back to the Star Martial Arts! ❤️

Many of our longer-standing students and families will remember Liam from years ago, when he was an important part of our school. After taking some time away from Taekwondo, it is fantastic to have him back training with us and ready to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of Star Martial Arts students.

Liam brings with him excellent experience in both Poomsae and fighting, having competed in many championships over the years, from **Scotland to Belgium**, as well as travelling and training in Portugal. 🥋🌍

But what makes a great instructor isn't only experience, medals or competition results. It's the willingness to keep learning, keep training and pass that knowledge on to others.

And that connects perfectly with our August Lesson of the Month: EFFORT. 💪⭐
Sometimes EFFORT means pushing yourself through a difficult training session.
Sometimes it means practising something again and again until you improve. And sometimes it means coming back to something you love after time away and starting again.
Liam has done exactly that and we are delighted to have him back as part of our team.

Please join us in giving Liam a BIG **WELCOME BACK!** 👏🥋❤️
We are looking forward to seeing him working alongside our instructors and helping our students continue to learn, improve and become the best versions of themselves.

⭐ **Welcome back, Liam. It’s great to have you home at Star Martial Arts!** ⭐

🥋 AUGUST LESSON OF THE MONTH: EFFORT ⭐

We may have been a little quiet on social media recently, but there has certainly been plenty of hard work happening at Star Martial Arts! 🥋💪

Our Lesson of the Month for August is EFFORT.

Effort means giving your best, even when something is difficult. It means turning up, trying again, listening to feedback and understanding that improvement takes time.

In martial arts, we don't expect our students to be perfect. What we ask is that they give their best EFFORT and keep moving forward. ⭐

As we always say:
“Effort is the key to success, so try, try and try again.”

🥋 Students, what is one thing you have worked hard to improve recently?

Today all of our students worked incredibly hard in class!

Our children’s classes have been busy preparing for their upcoming grading examinations in July. I will send out the full registration details and information tomorrow.

Our high-grade students have also been training hard as they prepare for their Black Tag and Black Belt examinations.

A very special mention goes to all of our Junior and Adult students, who completed an amazing 45-minute training session without stopping, except for a quick drink break. It was fantastic to see everyone giving their very best and pushing themselves through some challenging training conditions.

Well done to everyone. Remember, martial arts is not about being better than someone else it is about being better than you were yesterday.

Every class you attend, every kick you throw, every pattern you practise, and every time you push through when you feel tired, you are building a stronger body, a stronger mind, and a stronger character.

Success is not achieved in a single day. It is built one class, one lesson, and one effort at a time. Keep showing up, keep working hard, and never underestimate what you can achieve through consistency and determination.

The students who achieve their goals are not always the most talented, they are the ones who refuse to give up.

LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH, LEARN!
🥋⭐ A Black Belts are simply White Belts who never quit. Keep moving forward, one step at a time. ⭐🥋

What an amazing evening for our Star Martial Arts family on Friday 15th May 2026! ⭐🥋

We would like to say a huge thank you to Steven and everyone involved for the invitation to be part of the fantastic Brook Feast community event. It was incredibly well organised, full of positive energy, amazing food, music, smiles, and a wonderful community spirit throughout the whole evening.

It was especially lovely to meet so many of our students and families outside of training and to see the children having so much fun with our Star Tiger mascot. Events like this remind us how important community, friendship, and togetherness really are.

Thank you again to everyone who came to say hello and support us. We are proud to be part of such a positive and growing community here in Brooklands.

Together we continue to inspire confidence, friendship, respect, and happiness both inside and outside the martial arts school.
