Year 1 have been learning all about windmills in DT. Today, they worked with a partner to create a windmill with a moving turbine. Next week, they will evaluate their models and think of how they could improve them, before making their own improved windmill. Well done Year 1, a lot of perseverance was needed in this lesson!

Playing with patterns in Reception.

In nursery last week, we were digging for dinosaurs. The children used their senses to explore the sand and ice. They were all very excited to break open the ice and find the toys. 🦕🦖❄️

Over the past couple of weeks, Seedlings and Saplings have been learning how to sort objects into different categories. We have also started to look at patterns in the environment and even used cereal to make our own. Well done Reception 😊

Reminder for Y6 parents. Y6 children have an exciting visit to Bletchley Park planned for tomorrow. Please ensure your child has weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes (trainers are recommended) as there will be a lot of walking involved.
They will also need to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle.

Both classes will be leaving promptly at 9am.

This week in ASC we have been dodging those rain bursts with some lovely colouring, playing with our cars and dolls, lego creations even practicing our choir songs.🎵 and we managed to catch a double rainbow too!! 🌈 🌈 have a great weekend! ASC team

Year Five really enjoyed their maths lesson outside yesterday. Children had to search the playground for statistics related questions and then write the answers on whiteboards.

It's been a great start to our new school year here at Chestnuts After School Club. It has been lovely to see all the children enjoying their time in ASC. We have been dressing up, colouring, on the chrome books doing our homework and getting our board up and running again with our talented artists! Have a great weekend!

Year 1 have had a brilliant start to the new term. We really enjoyed our under the sea themed activities linked to the books 'Sharing a shell' and 'The odd fish'. We saw lots of examples of the Chestnuts Way being demonstrated with children having fun, choosing their attitude, challenging themselves and making our days! Well done Year 1!
