Children need time outdoors to move, wonder, get muddy and make their own discoveries.

A new University of Exeter study found that children are spending less time playing outside than previous generations. At Highfield House, outdoor learning is part of everyday nursery life, with space to explore, create and play including our child-led forest school sessions in the meadow.

From balancing on logs to noticing insects and making something from natural materials, these small moments can build confidence in such a natural way.
