🏛️ Year 4 Step Back in Time at Bancroft Roman Villa! 🏛️

Our Year 4 pupils had a fantastic time bringing their history learning to life with an immersive trip to Bancroft Roman Villa!

The children became true archaeologists and historians for the day:

🔍 Exploring Ancient Ruins: Walking among the preserved stonework and steps, discovering the layout of the 4th-century villa and tracking down the cold plunge pool and heated bath suites.

🏺 Hands-on Artefacts: Examining genuine historical finds up close, from ancient pottery to animal bones and teeth!

🎨 Crafting Mosaics: Channelling their inner Roman artisans by designing and creating their own colourful mosaic patterns.

🧠 Uncovering Daily Life: Learning all about hypocaust underfloor heating, Roman fashion and the board games people played over 1,600 years ago.

The children represented TPA brilliantly with their curiosity, thoughtful questions and excellent teamwork.

A huge thank you to the team at The Parks Trust for such an engaging and inspiring day out!

Future Career Day! 🧑‍🚀👩‍⚕️👨‍🏫

Tomorrow is the last day of Learning Block 2, and to celebrate, we are holding a non-uniform day at The Premier Academy!

The theme is Future Career Day! We are inviting all children to come to school dressed as what they want to be when they grow up. Whether it's a doctor, a builder, a scientist, an artist or an astronaut, we can't wait to see their big dreams come to life!

📅 When: Friday, September 25th
👔 Theme: What I want to be when I grow up!

As a quick reminder, since Friday marks the end of this learning block, we break for one week and will welcome the children back to school on Monday, October 5th.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone's fantastic outfits tomorrow!

Year 4 Trip to Bancroft Roman Villa! 🏛️

This week, our Year 4 students will be stepping back in time with an exciting educational visit to Bancroft Roman Villa!

As the children will be spending time outdoors exploring the historical site, please be mindful of the unpredictable weather. To ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable day, all children must bring a warm, waterproof coat and wear appropriate, sturdy footwear.

We can not wait for a fantastic day of historical discovery!

☕MHST Workshop & Coffee Afternoon ☕

A gentle reminder for our parents and carers that we are hosting an informal afternoon session with our local Mental Health Services Team (MHST) this coming Thursday, 24th September from 14:00 to 15:00 at The Premier Academy.

Supporting children's emotional well-being is a shared priority. This session is designed to offer practical guidance and open communication between home and school.

During the afternoon, the team will cover:

- Psychoeducation: Understanding children's emotional needs and mental health in an accessible way.
- Practical Tips & Tricks: Quick, everyday strategies to help manage stress, anxiety and big feelings at home.
- Accessing Support: Clear information on how to access emotion regulation groups, target interventions and referral pathways.

There will also be time at the end for general questions and a chance to speak informally with members of the team.

To help us plan for numbers, please ensure you complete the Expression of Interest form sent in the original letter on MCAS by tomorrow, Monday 21 September, or email [email protected].

We hope you have a restful rest of your Sunday and look forward to seeing you there!

Instrumental lessons at TPA! 🎹🎻🎺🎷🎸📯

All our instrumental lessons have started off with a bang! 🥁

We are incredibly fortunate to be able to provide lessons on a wide range of instruments, thanks to our fantastic team of visiting teachers from the MK Music Co-op. All lessons take place during the school day in our specialist instrumental music room, and your child will have already been given their specific lesson time by their class teacher.

Here is a quick reminder of our weekly schedule for all children in year 2 and above:

Mondays: Violin

Tuesdays: Keyboard, Trumpet & Trombone

Wednesdays: Flute & Clarinet

Thursdays: Keyboard

Fridays: Guitar

Practice makes perfect! 🎶
To help your child progress and build confidence, please encourage them to aim for 10 minutes of practice a day at home.

If you have any queries at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us!

📢 Reminder for 5JC Parents! 🏊‍♂️💦

Don't forget, tomorrow is our class swimming day! We will be leaving school promptly at 9:00 AM, so please ensure everyone arrives on time.

Getting Ready in the Morning:
Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit with their swimming costume underneath (no underwear under the swimwear, please!). Just a quick reminder that suitable swimwear is trunks for boys and a one-piece costume for girls.

What to pack in a plastic or waterproof bag:
✔️ Dry underwear (for after their lesson!)
✔️ A towel
✔️ Swimming cap (Optional)
✔️ Swimming goggles (Optional)

A Note on Changing:
The children will be changing in communal changing rooms. If they would feel more comfortable, they are very welcome to bring a long robe or a hooded towel to use while getting dressed.

Jewellery & Watches:
Please ensure all watches and jewellery are removed at home before coming to school. Any religious jewellery that cannot be removed must be safely covered.

We can't wait for a fantastic session in the pool tomorrow! 🌊🏊‍♂️

A fantastic first week back!

We are incredibly proud of how seamlessly the children have transitioned back into school life since Tuesday.

Everyone has settled brilliantly back into their classroom routines, caught up with friends, and dived straight into a new term of learning with excellent focus.

Thank you to all our families for ensuring such a positive start to the academic year.

Rest up, enjoy the weekend and we will see you all on Monday!

The mid-August uniform check! 👕📏

We know it feels like the summer holidays have only just started, but September will be here before we know it! If you are braving the shops or ordering via MyChildAtSchool this week, here is a quick reminder of our TPA uniform essentials to help you get prepared:

Shirts: Please ensure children have a plain white buttoned and collared shirt (rather than polo shirts).

Blazers & Ties: TPA Blazers are worn by children in Years 3 to 6. House colour ties are also required, and we have handy elasticated versions available for Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. (A special note for our new Reception parents: your child's first tie is completely free and will be given directly to them at school!)

Shoes: We ask that all children wear plain black school shoes. Please save the ballet pumps, plimsolls, and black trainers for the weekends!

PE Kits: Our indoor kits and winter tracksuits are available as bundles on MyChildAtSchool, featuring the official TPA logo. Just a quick reminder that PE trainers should be predominately plain black or plain white.

You can check the full uniform requirements including our policy on bags, hair accessories, and jewellery on our website: https://tpamk.co.uk/parents/uniform/

Who has already finished their back-to-school shopping, and who is leaving it until the very last week of August? Be honest! 👇🎒

Calling all TPA parents and carers! 🐛📚

We would love to know how your children are getting on with their summer Reading Bingo Challenge!

As a quick reminder, there are house points up for grabs! The children will receive 2 house points for each challenge completed, and they can earn a massive 40 house points for completing a full house. Have they managed to tick off "Read in a hiding place" or "Listen to an audio story" yet?

We also highly encourage you to pop down to the local library with your little ones to join their fantastic, free Summer Reading Challenge, which is themed "Read to the Beat" this year. The children can earn a bookmark after reading 3 books, and a certificate and medal once they hit 6 books!

Please remember to share any photos of the completed bingo challenges with your child's new class teacher via their year group email (for example, [email protected] or [email protected]).

Let us know in the comments how many bingo squares your child has marked off so far! 👇🏆
