Well can.t believe we are already in the middle of January. Some of you may remember I designed a bobble hat and decided to do a Bobble hat Xmas Tree. My daughter and her Uni friends got their hats over Xmas and I managed to make some for my Wood Street neighbours and friends as stocking fillers. My cat named Hope became a yarn magnet. I think those hats will come in handy as it is really nippy right now. I used 1 ball of Winter Glow Solid by Hobbii for the hat. The pattern is on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/winter-warmer-bobble-hat

Well at Xmas I decided to turn our Christmas Tree into a bobble hat Xmas Tree. My daughter and her Uni friends wanted me to design a bobble hat ready for their night out on the town in Edinburgh. We'll I took things one step further and decided to make bobble hats for not only my daughters friends but for my street, family and friends. The pattern is available on Ravelry

Winter Warmer Bobble Hat pattern by Lorraine Hearn Well I haven’t been on here for ages. My daughter has grown up fast and now at University. She and her Uni Friends have been asking me to make them a bobble hat as it is getting pretty cold now.

I constructed this design a number of years ago with child growth spurts in mind. The secret to this design was the waist cord. I started creating the waist cord and then it was a matter of picking up stitches from one side of the waistband and knitting up towards the shoulders and casting off at the shoulders and then returning to the waistband and then working down towards the bottom of the garment and casting off at the bottom. The sleeves were worked by picking up stitchs from the armhole cord and working down towards the bottom of the sleeves instead of casting on from the bottom of the sleeve and working up towards the top. This then allows you to adjust the sleeve length if required. The sleeves could also be detached for a frilled sleeveless version. This corndolly garment was fun to make and was featured as part of the Stables Shoot from the "Aspley Collection" using Cascade Yarns Eco+ yarn https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/child-adult-adaptable-corndolly-peplum-sweater

It is always handy to have this chart in your bag or purse when your are shopping around for your needles. I will load the file onto my group page so you knitters can download and adjust the print settings for the size you want. Knitters that are signing up for my Absolute Beginners Online Workshop tommorow evening will find this handy too 🥰🥰
