Walking in the Algarve this week! Enjoying a little strength warm up before my 7 mile walk today. It's amazing what you can do with a set of dumbells in a basic hotel gym.

First strength session in 16 days! Holidays are fab, it's great to feel the sun, get a tan, eat anything and have a few beers but it's all about balance! A good night's sleep tonight and healthy nutritious food from tomorrow morning is the only way to keep on track with my goals. Tough first day back in the gym, my quads hurt but look at that smile. Lifting will always be part of my daily regime. 😍🏋💪

People often ask me what the secret is to losing weight and I reply 'it's not a secret'! There is no fad diet that will work long term, you just need to consistently do the following

1) 10k steps everyday! Its not enough to just use your day to day walking, you need to raise your heart rate as much as you can. I call these zone minutes

2) Strength training to increase muscle strength 4 to 6 times a week

3) Drink plenty of water all day long to cleanse your body

4) Eat a high protein diet within a calorie deficit. Various calculators online to help work out how many calories to eat or contact me if you need help

5) Get 7 hours of sleep a night and go to bed at a set time

6) Repeat 1) to 5) and be selfish about striving for your goals
