Dinosaur maths 🦖 ➕

We used our fab multi link cubes to measure how many cubes tall our .uk dinosaurs are 🦕

Language included taller, shorter, bigger, smaller, tallest and shortest.

Then unplanned, Ezra said he had been splitting 5 in to different groups at school but he didn’t get a turn so could we do some at home.

We used our gifted counting dinosaurs for this activity. Ezra showed me how he could make different combinations of groups with the 5 dinosaurs. He said, I’ve got 1 here and 4 here.

Ezra then carried on making structures out of the multi link cubes and made bridges and all sorts.

What I thought would be a quick 5 minute activity actually turned in to at least half an hour.

Is there anything better than a plain box for getting their little imaginative juice’s flowing? 📦 🚀 🚘 We now save any delivery boxes we received and repurpose them ♻️

Here E is making a jungle for his animals to live in. 🐒 🕷
Using - if you haven’t tried them yet - they are INCREDIBLE.

Research has shown 3 year olds can ask an average of 100 - 300 questions every single day. 🤯 😳

These are just some of the questions I’ve been asked this week that I didn’t know how to answer…and that is okay. In fact it’s perfect.

Showing your little one that you’re still learning as an adult is amazing. It models to them that learning is life long.

Take the opportunity to find out the answers together. You could

✅ find an “expert” - ask someone else who may know

✅ Use a book

✅ Use your favourite search engine and the wonderful power of the internet

✏️ Comment below - I’d love to hear what wonderful questions your little ones have been asking recently.

Last week at , we had a great time.

I stand by there being nothing better than experiences to enhance children’s language and later on, writing.

My little boy has spent the last week talking about the pigs in so much detail and drawing pictures of what he saw.
