We recently sat down with our third year Musical Theatre degree students to hear what makes Arts1 different from their perspective.

Obviously we could tell you what makes Arts1 different but it’s probably better coming from the people who train here every day.

A huge thank you to Sarah Jane Price Casting CDA, who joined our third-year musical theatre degree students today to lead a fantastic casting workshop!

Students had the chance to audition 1-to-1, before coming together for a group Q&A and the opportunity to hear SJ’s insight into the casting process and industry.

Arts1 is looking for a Vocal Coach & Singing Teacher to join our Evening & Weekend School team.

The role includes one-to-one vocal coaching during the week, alongside group singing classes on Saturdays.

This is how third year is done.

Last week, our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre students were joined in the rehearsal room by writers Sam Norman and Eliza Randall, as they continued workshopping their new musical The Debutantes.

Sam and Eliza flew over from the States especially to see the work in the room, spend time with the cast and explore how the students’ work could help shape the future of the show.

That meant our students weren’t simply rehearsing a finished piece. They were part of the development process - trying material, making discoveries, responding to changes and working directly with the people who created it alongside an incredible industry creative team.

A pretty special week in the rehearsal room and for Arts1.

We are devastated to learn of the sudden passing of former Arts1 student Nuala Buckley at just 19 years old.

A talented dancer and wonderful young lady, Nuala attended the sixth form at Arts1 from 2023 - 2025 and was loved by students and staff alike.

Our hearts go out to all those who were close to Nuala and our thoughts are with her family, friends and those closest to her at this very difficult time.

Rest peacefully Nuala.

Introducing Inside Arts1 - our brand-new experience day for our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Course, taking place on 8 November 2026 for those performers aged 16+ looking to take their next step to drama school.

We’re bringing together industry guests and Arts1 faculty for a full day of triple threat training. You’ll get into the studios, take part in practical workshops and explore how singing, acting and dance come together.

Here’s just a few guests who you’ll be working with:

• Lucy Banfield - Musical Theatre Jazz
• Allyson Ava-Brown - Singing Audition Masterclass
• Rohan Tickell - Acting Workshop
• James Grimsey - Estill Voice Lab

There’s a Live Industry Panel too with all guests to be announced, plus time to meet current Degree students, ask questions and get a feel for our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course.
