It has been an exciting day in Poppy class, the children went to the local shop to buy some goodies to eat with their family this afternoon for the Teddy Bears picnic 🧺
The children in Poppy class tried peaches for the first time today and they all loved trying a new fruit🍑
Poppy class have been enjoying all the different activities during our Art week this week. We have experienced leaf rubbing, leaf painting and printing, still life flower drawings and water colours, also helping to create a flower meadow.
In last week's special World Book Day assembly, we launched a new and exciting reading challenge. We want children to share their love of all things books and reading by making themselves part of a book in our BookFace Competition.

Year 5 had an amazing day today celebrating world book day! We shared and chatted about our favourite books this morning and then had a story session with Paul and created our own bookmarks this afternoon!📚📖
A huge thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles who came into school this afternoon to read with their children. The classrooms were jam packed, and it was so lovely to see children enjoying stories with you all. It was a successful afternoon all around!
Poppy class had a wonderful WBD today, full of stories and activities✨ We started the day with a storytelling session with Paul, free flow of activities based around some of our favourite stories and ended the day with sharing stories with the people we love the most 🥺🥰
Wheat class have had a brilliant !📚We have tried new books during our ’book tasting cafe’ and loved Paul’s storytelling session 😂📚

Year One Pumpkin Class have been roleplaying The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch- children had to slide the basket from Mrs Grinling to Mr Grinling at the Lighthouse. Let's hope those pesky seagulls do not eat the sandwiches!

Pyjamas have landed at CTS today, for our 'Snuggle and Read' themed WBD!
World Book Day has landed at CTS!! Mrs Palfreyman led us in a fantastic book and music filled assembly this morning as we begun our day of reading celebrations! We are looking forward to welcoming lots of parents from 2.45 this afternoon for our snuggle up and read sessions in classrooms.
We enjoyed a fantastic and thought- provoking collective worship from , where we explored influence and how we can use our voices to spread joy and positivity
Yesterday, Pumpkin class enjoyed trying various fruits and vegetables as part of our Design and Technology unit. Over the weeks we will be designing a salad, learning how to prepare fruit and vegetables then tasting and evaluating our products.
Today Catkin went ‘speed dating’ with the planets🪐🌏 we were given 3 minutes with esch planet to learn and make as many notes as possible. We have then created our own information posters all about the planets in our solar system🪐☄️🔭
This afternoon, Wheat class have been exploring how different animals have adapted to their environments. We looked at how peppered moths had to adapt to survive after the Industrial Revolution. We challenged ourselves to camouflage our own moths around the room to see which ones would survive from predators! How did we do??
Children in Poppy class have been recreating “The Snail” by Henri Matisse in the creative area 🐌 They have been collaging which is sticking cut up pieces together ✂️
This morning, children in Poppy class are engaged in going on a bug hunt using their fine motor skills by writing the names of the minibeasts they find! 🦋🪳🦂🐞
Today Rosehip and Catkin had a publishing party together. We shared our final pieces of artwork and writing from the end of last term. This allowed us to experience being an author and artist. It also allowed us to compare our writing and gather some feedback from our peers✍️📝🌅🏞️🎨🖌️
Acorn class absolutely loved exploring the Little City yesterday. We discussed all of the jobs we could see while playing and learning.
Pumpkin Class were having a blast at Little City yesterday. We discovered what it would be like to have a job and tried different professions. All of the children enjoyed themselves and were showing exceptional sharing, cooperation and communication skills! we are very proud of them.
This week, Year 5 started their new learning about global warming🌏🔥 our first lesson was all about what it actually is and what we can do to reduce the rate it’s happening♻️We created our own information leaflets all about our research📝
Daisy Class had a lovely time exploring Little City this morning.
Little City encouraged Poppy class to reflect on our learning about "People Who Help Us" within the community💭 After our morning of play, we were aspiring for our future and how we will help!🏆
Children in Poppy class have been inspired by Little City 😍 The children were excellent at using their imagination in pretend play✨
