Research shows that a third of men are concerned they might be accused of "inappropriate" touching when performing chest compressions on a woman in cardiac arrest. This hesitation can be life-threatening.

At Vital Signs First, we use the Practi-Man manikin with a female form to tackle this issue. This innovative training tool helps break down barriers, normalising CPR/AED techniques for women and improving survival rates.

First aid in the sun! Taking full advantage of the lovely sunny weather on Saturday, our candidates put their CPR skills to the test.

This is what grief is.
A hole ripped through the very fabric of your being.
The hole eventually heals along the jagged edges that remain. It may even shrink in size.
But that hole will always be there.
A piece of you always missing.
For where there is deep grief, there was great love.
Don’t be ashamed of your grief.
Don’t judge it.
Don’t suppress it.
Don’t rush it.
Rather, acknowledge it.
Lean into it.
Listen to it.
Feel it.
Sit with it.
Sit with the pain. And remember the love.
This is where the healing will begin.

Been a hectic 3 days! First two spent renewing my Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) qualification, and today spent doing a Resuscitation Council UK Clinical Skills Immediate Life Support course. Pass for both of them on top of achieving my Scottish First Aid for Mental Health certificate 2 weeks ago.

Rest in peace Steve Wright. Sincere condolences you your family and friends. You will be sorely missed by all. What a legend.
