Dear Parents/Carers and Students
Further to the communication sent yesterday evening, a reminder that due to the red weather alert and forecasted extreme temperatures, we will be implementing early closures on some days this week to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
β° Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June: School will close early at 12:25pm
π½οΈ Students eligible for free school meals will be provided with a packed lunch before leaving the building.
π For safeguarding reasons, please can students go straight home after leaving school, and not go to local areas (including the Westcroft Shopping/Community area). This will also ensure students keep themselves safe out of the extremely high temperatures.
βοΈ Students please remember to:
β’ Bring a refillable water bottle to school
β’ Wear sunscreen
β’ Wear a hat
π» Students can access schoolwork via MS Teams and online platforms on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
π
We currently expect Friday 26 June to be a normal school day. Any changes will be shared on Thursday morning (25th).
If you have urgent concerns, please contact your childβs Year Leader.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep all students safe.

πHot Weather Arrangements π
Due to the forecast of hot weather tomorrow (Friday 19 June) and throughout next week (22-26 June), students may wear their full school PE kit along with trainers to help keep them comfortable.
Students are also welcome to continue wearing their full school uniform if they prefer.
To stay safe and cool, students should bring a refillable water bottle and sunscreen each day. Water bottles may be refilled before registration, at breaktime, at lunchtime and after school. We also encourage students to wear hats where appropriate and make use of shaded areas during break and lunchtime.
Regarding the week commencing 29 June, we will send a further message to confirm whether students may continue to wear their PE kit or if a return to full school uniform will be required should the weather become cooler.
Thank you for your support π

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors took an important step during the last half-term by learning what it truly means to be an ally. π¬π
Through hands-on training, they explored how to listen without judgement, stand up for others and create a culture where everyone feels safe and valued. We talked about the importance of supportive language and the impact of small actions, in order to make a big difference.
We are so proud of these students for leading with empathy, courage and kindness. Together, they are helping to make our school a place where everyone belongs. π
Students - Would you like to be an Anti-Bullying Ambassador? If yes, then please speak to your Year Team and fill out an 'Interest Form'.

Becoming Badgers: Meet & Movie - Thursday 9 July 2026 π½οΈπ₯π½οΈ
We are excited to welcome our new Year 6 students to Becoming Badgers: Meet & Movie - a relaxed and friendly transition evening next month, designed to help them begin their journey into Year 7 at Shenley Brook End School.
Students will head into the theatre to enjoy a film together, with a selection of games available at the back for those who want to get involved. All Year 6 students will be provided with popcorn to enjoy during the film. The evening is a great opportunity for them to meet new classmates, chat with others in their form groups, and start building those first connections in a calm and enjoyable setting.
Parents and carers are warmly invited too. You are welcome to sit in the Phase 3 street, where tables will be set up to create a welcoming space to meet other families and speak with key members of staff. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available, offering a relaxed environment to chat, ask questions and find out more about life at SBES.
