🐻🥣 Goldilocks & The Three Bears Week at Happy Nappy Childcare! 🥣🐻This week, our little adventurers are diving into the classic tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears! We are bringing the story to life through hands-on play while covering all 7 areas of the EYFS framework:🗣️ Communication & Language: Retelling the story, practicing deep "Daddy Bear" voices, and learning new vocabulary like "enormous" and "just right!"🌱 Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Talking about boundaries and choices. (Was it nice of Goldilocks to use things without asking? How did the bears feel?)🏃 Physical Development: Pouring, scooping, and mixing our own porridge oats to build fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.📚 Literacy: Snuggling up for storytime, exploring print in our favorite books, and mark-making in "porridge" trays.🔢 Mathematics: Exploring sizes (small, medium, large) and sorting bowls, spoons, and chairs for the bear family.🌍 Understanding the World: Exploring textures (hot/cold porridge, hard/soft chairs) and talking about real bears and their habitats.🎨 Expressive Arts & Design: Role-playing in our Three Bears cottage and getting creative with bear-themed crafts!Keep an eye out on our daily updates to see what your little ones create this week! Ahoy, me hearties! 🏴‍☠️✨ This week at Happy Nappy Childcare, we are setting sail onto the high seas for a week of pirate adventures inspired by the brilliant book Pirates in Pyjamas! 🌊⚓
While our little buccaneers think they are just having a swashbuckling good time in their jim-jams, they are actually exploring all 7 areas of the EYFS framework through play! Here is how our pirate treasure map looks this week:
🗣️ Communication & Language: Retelling our favourite parts of the story, learning new vocabulary like 'ahoy' and 'galleon', and listening intently to the rhythm and rhymes of our book.
🧠 Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Talking about our own bedtime routines (just like the pirates!), sharing the 'treasure' during play, and building confidence as we take on roles in our pirate ship.
🏃‍♂️ Physical Development: Walking the plank to practice balancing, scrubbing the decks, and using fine motor skills to pinch and dig out hidden gems from our sensory play.
📚 Literacy: Making our own treasure maps and marking them with big 'X's, and spotting rhyming words during storytime.
🔢 Mathematics: Counting out our gold coins, sorting treasure by size and shape, and using position language (over, under, behind) to find hidden loot.
🌍 Understanding the World: Exploring floating and sinking with our toy boats, and talking about the oceans and maps.
🎨 Expressive Arts & Design: Designing our own jazzy pirate pyjamas using textures and collages, and singing sea shanties at the top of our lungs!

🦖🛒 OH NO! There are Dinosaurs in the Supermarket! 🛒🦖
This week, our learning is inspired by the hilarious and chaotic picture book, Dinosaurs in the Supermarket by Timothy Knapman and Sarah Warburton! We will be exploring the massive mess these prehistoric guests leave behind while covering all seven areas of the EYFS framework
