Both venues are friendly, welcoming spaces with parking directly outside, making them easy to get to with little ones in tow. They’re also close to local parks and amenities, so there’s plenty nearby to make a morning or afternoon of it.

Summer holidays are a great chance to catch up with old friends.

I dread to think how long it’s been since I last saw Becky! We’ve both since left teaching and started our own businesses, but it turns out we’re still doing something very similar — with reading and literacy at the heart of what we do.

It was lovely to finally catch up! ☕️📚

School starters tip - Name Recognition

It is handy if children can begin to recognise their own name so they can find their peg, tray, book bag and other belongings.

If you come to our pre school classes you will know we do this at the start of each lesson but there’s lots of ways to reinforce this at home. Here’s one way by using loose parts to go over their name. You could also focus on the initial letter and let the children gradually work through all the letters in their name. A great activity that's fun and helps develop fine motor skills too!
