On Monday, Year 5 had an exciting day going back in time to Ancient Egypt. Throughout the day, the children translated a series of messages written in hieroglyphs, learnt how to play an Egyptian board game called Hounds and Jackals, played a series of games themed around hunting on the River Nile and rounded off the day with an ancient Egyptian story called The Tale of the Cursed Prince. The children had a fantastic day and this really brought the topic to life for them.
Yesterday, the children in Years 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed listening to the MK Music Hub Instrumental Roadshow Concert. The children also learnt about the different stringed instruments, as well as how a bow is made!

Rocksteady Performance.
The children who have been attending music lessons with Rocksteady gave the whole school another amazing performance to showcase their talent. Well done! 🤘
Three of our Year 5 Junior Park Rangers attended the workshop at Howe Park Wood on Saturday. It is a beautiful ancient wood, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). They saw lots of toad spawn and frog spawn in the pond and explored the woodland, searching for animal tracks and signs. Back in the classroom, they scientifically dissected owl pellets and made wild flower seed balls.
A big thank you to all the children for their fantastic participation in the Willen Hospice Bunny Hop. It was great fun enhanced by the visit of the Easter Bunny! Willen Hospice Milton Keynes
A huge thank you to everyone who has sent money in so far. Currently we have raised over £500. If you still have not sent your money in, please could we have any remaining sponsorships as soon as possible and definitely before we break up. We are grateful for any amount to go to this worthy cause. It is really appreciated.
After weeks of tutorials and submitting a 1000-word essay, The Brilliant Club went to the University of Reading for their graduation. This involved the children taking part in a reflection session, listening to some students talk about life at university and a tour of the campus before the main event. Ethan and Sophie spoke fantastically about their experiences as a member of the Brilliant Club. The children were amazing and participated brilliantly in all the activities. They should all feel very proud of themselves for their achievement.
Today, Year 5 learnt about the real meaning of Easter in a fun, interactive 90-minute session provided by Bridgebuilder Trust. The children all thoroughly enjoyed the session and came away with a book to enjoy in their own time.
Tomorrow (15th March) is Red Nose Day.
Children may come into school wearing something red.
We are not raising money, just awareness, as we are doing a bunny hop on March 19th and 20th to raise money for Willen Hospice.

This year, each child has designed their own Christmas card as part of our school fundraising. Your child will be coming home today with an order card, displaying their own personal design. The card has instructions of how you can view and order online as well as a snapshot of your child's individual design on each of the products.
If you would like to place an order, you will be asked to pay online. This is not something school has access to. Please make sure you keep hold of your order card until you have received your items and are happy with the order in case of any queries.
Thank you for your support and we hope you love our designs! ✨🎄
A group of children visited Bletchley Park with Mrs Gorania last week. They got the opportunity to have a guided tour of Bletchley Park and then they worked on a ‘Cyphers and Codes’ workshop. The children all got to look at different codes and methods of communication from using symbols, to using Morse Code. They looked at the Enigma machine and got understand how it was used by the Germans during the war and they all got to try it out.
Below are some testimonials from the children:
“I liked the Tour Guide because he was very kind and he told us everything about Bletchley Park and some things about World War 2. It was the best day of my life!” – Paige
“I liked the Tour Guide because he was nice and happy and he told us all about Bletchley Park. He told us about the Polish team that was forgotten by everyone.” – Leighton
“I was a bit anxious at first because I didn’t know what the day would be like. After I got there, I liked the place a lot more, it was very interesting and I got to learn how to crack codes. I saw the Bombe and it looked cool. I loved this day!” – Andreea
“When I arrived at Bletchley Park today, I really missed school, but today was a good day. My favourite thing to do was the code breaking workshop. I even got to make my own code name. I loved it today! Please let me go again!” - Isabella
“I have enjoyed watching the different films and watching how the Bombe worked. I also liked the workshop and visiting the mansion at Bletchley Park. Thank you for taking us there today.” - Elizabeth
It has been great to see so many odd socks around school today to mark the start of anti-bullying week and celebrate what makes us all unique.
