If your child already has a funded childcare place and you want it to continue next term (September), you will need to log into your childcare account and reconfirm your details by 31 August 2024. ✔️

📣Free childcare for working families is expanding.

From September, working families of children aged nine months to four years may be eligible for 15 or 30 hours free childcare from the term after they become eligible and apply for a code. 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦

If you are eligible you will receive a code to take to your childcare provider, and you must renew the code every three months. ✅

To start in September, apply for a code by 31st August. ✅

For your funding to be approved when your childcare provider adds your child to the council funding portal in September, the code must be valid and applied for or renewed within the last three months. ✅

School admissions are open!
Children born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 are due to start school for the first time in September 2022 and those now in Year 6 are due to start secondary school.
These are the key dates to remember:
⏰ Submit your secondary school application before 1 November 2021
⏰ Submit your primary school application before 17 January 2022

Councillor Rachel Massey, cabinet member for children's service and education, has some top advice: "School applications are a hugely exciting moment for parents as their child grows and flourishes. I know parents are eager for this moment, so it is vital they submit their applications by the deadline. I would really encourage people to use all 4 preferences, putting only one preference will not guarantee a place at that school."
