Nothing beats a Forest School day!
Exploring, playing together, getting dirty, drilling and hammering to make a spinner, creating with clay, then waiting for the fire to be ready so they could cook their marshmallows- delicious!

Such a busy month, with so many reasons to celebrate!
We started with Earth Day, when the children made collages of the Earth, fished the rubbish out of our bowl representing the ocean and went litter picking near the nursery.
We celebrated MNC’s 42nd birthday with ‘cheers’ and chocolate biscuits at snack time, before having fun with bubbles and parachutes.
We thought about Mental Health week with lots of chat about feelings and a game sorting out the colours in The Colour monster book.
We celebrated new life with a visit from some hand reared lambs who needed feeding and then waited impatiently for our eggs to hatch into chicks - all 16 of them did. The children had to keep counting and re-counting.
We enjoyed the arrival of some new balance boards- although I hadn’t anticipated them being used as loungers!
We finished by celebrating the coming of Spring with our annual May Ceremony, crowning our May Queen and the children all dancing beautifully for family and friends.

We love Elmer, so we donned our Elmer ears and went to the Elmer exhibition at the Novium museum. The children dressed up as Elmer, tried to turn him grey, listened to the animal sounds, played an Elmer game, coloured an Elmer picture and enjoyed a quiet moment with a David McKee story.

For our end of Spring term celebrations the children decorated an egg tree as a centrepiece for our Easter Bonnet Parade, where all the stunning hats were displayed and admired! We ended as always with an egg hunt in the garden where the children filled the little baskets they had made.
