Teeenie room children have been looking at their story of the month BIG bear Little bear which coincides nicely with the recent frosty weather. We used deep blue ice cubes with instant snow and HUGE globes of ice with our artic creatures trapped inside. The Children were able to rescue our artic friends through the erosion of water and salt.

A few weeks ago we invested in an outdoor investigation station to support outdoor learning as an important part of early years education.
Physically children use their gross and fine motor skills as well as experiencing weather and seasonal changes and benefit from the fresh air.
Social development is supported as children learn to cooperate, negotiate, and take turns and develop bonds of friendship, social skills and empathy. They can also process their feelings in a natural environment
Emotionally children use their senses to explore the natural world, and develop creativity and imagination. Confidence and self-esteem as well as learning to assess risk and manage difficult situations and fostering a positive attitude to learning. We also support a learning environment that allows children to experience a sense of calm, awe and wonder, and develop a healthy appreciation of the natural world.
Communication and language scaffolds each area of development as children interact and discover new vocabulary.

We have further plans to develop the outdoor area so watch this space.

🌈We have the wonderfully vibrant and very energetic Char Char from Cheeky Chops Playtime visiting nursery on a Tuesday. Char Char goes in each class room. At the moment the sessions are based around light and dark with music, dance and makaton signing. The children all really enjoy Char Char's session and get very excited to see her.

Our Pre-school were very hands on with pumpkin calving as well as pumpkin painting. They also built a gingerbread house and took part in competitions to win prizes. Some fantastic dressing up to!!

👶👶 Our baby room has had a freshen up and is open and ready to be enjoyed for our Halloween Stay and Play today. Look out for more photos of the babies enjoying the spooky activities.
