Governor, Kevin Froggatt visited Cledford this week and led an art session with class 7. They looked at observational drawing and perspective. The children loved every minute. Mr Froggatt shared an example of a face with the pupils; the children sketched teddy bears.

Yesterday afternoon, year 2 enjoyed making delicious ice cream sundaes as a special treat for growing the tallest sunflower. The children had great fun choosing from chocolate sauce, squirty cream, sprinkles, Smarties, and marshmallows to create their own tasty sundaes. It was a wonderful way to celebrate their hard work and success!

In maths this week, year 2 has been busy exploring the school grounds, searching for different animals as part of their learning. They carefully recorded their discoveries using tally charts before turning their results into bar charts, developing both their maths and science skills through hands-on investigation. Well done, year 2!

Animals go wild in Nursery - today the children enjoyed having some lovely animals visit nursery. Duck, chinchilla, mouse, rabbit, guinea pig, tortoise and a hedgehog called sonic. Please ask your nursery child which animal was their favourite.

We are putting our maths learning from during the year to the test this week in year 2. We are solving puzzles involving the four operations as well as fractions and time to solve riddles and crack codes. We use hundred squares and number lines to help us and we are all so independent now. Great problem solving!

The pre school children enjoyed a 'wild' morning last Friday. They had some very special nocturnal visitors. The children were fascinated by the animals and their behaviour was exceptional. Many thanks to 'Animals Take Over' for the session.
