In Mountain Ash class in PE this half term, we have been practicing and developing our different skills in readiness to showcase at the celebration event. We have been practicing our balancing and mobility in different obstacle courses. We enjoy challenging ourselves and have been working on our independence with balancing. We have had been working really hard on our hand and eye coordination with a beanbag toss, darts, and a basketball shoot out.
We have also been developing our confidence and ability to use different equipment safely in our weekly visits to the park!
We can’t wait to share our skills with you!

This term in P.E., Elm Class have focused on using their bodies in different ways to navigate a variety of equipment. The children have explored moving on, in, under, over, and through different pieces of equipment during sessions in the hall.
Each child has been encouraged to choose the equipment they felt comfortable using, with support from class staff. Some children have confidently explored all of the equipment provided, while others have been building their confidence by navigating one piece of equipment at a time.
We have celebrated every child’s achievements throughout the term and have loved seeing them proudly show their peers what they can do best.

This half term in Norway Spruce we have been developing our mobility, dexterity, striking and kicking skills in our PE sessions. The children have been practicing and strengthening their skills, such as fine motor, hand eye coordination and balancing ready for our showcase to parents. Children have been choosing activities and pieces of equipment that interests them and that they enjoy.
We have also been learning about Newspapers in English, identifying different features: headlines, pictures, text and captions. In history we have been learning about Ancient Mayans: where they lived, what they ate, what they wore and how they built temples.
We also had a visitor this week developing our understanding of the Vikings from last half term. We explored different objects and dressed up like Vikings.

For the first time ever, we’ll be creating three autism-friendly Land of Lights events - opening the experience up to even more families across the England.
