A beautiful day was had at RHS Bridgewater this week. Y3 & Y6 had a fantastic time exploring the grounds, learning about pollination and planting their very own pea plants!🌱

And they're off!😁

Y3&Y6 have set off on their visit to RHS Bridgewater for a busy day exploring the beautiful grounds. The sun may not be shining but the children were in high spirits as they boarded the coach this morning armed with packed lunches, raincoats and sunhats (just in case!☀️)

We hope they all have a fabulous day!🌳🌿

Our Memorial Garden in the KS2 playground needed a revamp and what a beautiful start the children have made! It's an ever changing area and it's becoming a space where children can relax, reflect and take in the beautiful surroundings that they and their friends have worked hard to create.🌸🌱

SATs week: DONE ✔️

And honestly? We could not be prouder of our Year 6 children.
This week has never just been about tests. It has been about resilience, determination, courage, laughter, teamwork and simply giving things a go- and our children have shown all of that in abundance.

We have seen children encouraging each other, calming nerves, making staff smile and showing the kind of maturity that reminds us exactly why we do this job.

SATs can measure some things… but they will never measure kindness, humour, creativity, empathy, character or the ability to make others feel valued. Thankfully, our Year 6 children have all of those qualities in bucket loads.

Year 6 - you have been absolutely brilliant.

Year 3 are looking forward to the summer months, and what better way to start than by thinking about how we can keep ourselves safe in the sun?

In science, the children have been learning all about sun safety, including the importance of wearing sun hats, sunglasses, applying sun cream, seeking shade, and choosing loose, comfortable clothing.

Have a read to find out why the children think these simple steps can help protect us!☀️☀️

Year 2 have been working incredibly hard in Design Technology!🎨

They carefully explored the different parts of a castle, learning all about features such as walls, turrets, and towers. Using what they discovered, the children then designed and created their own castles out of clay. It was very important to include turrets and towers, and they did a fantastic job bringing their ideas to life. Take a look at their final masterpiece🏰

Class 1 have been busy young scientists!

In Science, we are learning all about plants, and we have now planted our very own sunflower seeds. Over the coming weeks, we will be observing how they grow, writing about the changes we see, and drawing pictures to record their progress.

We will also be taking good care of our plants by making sure they have everything they need to grow, just as we have learned in our lessons. To make things even more exciting, we’ll be measuring them regularly to see just how tall our sunflowers can grow!
We are especially excited to continue our planting as the weather gets nicer. We will be creating a garden area within our outdoor provision and already have lots of seeds ready to plant.🌻🌾

Year 6 have been exploring how people can use art to make a positive change in the world.

The children began by designing protest signs focused on Climate Change in their books, carefully thinking about the messages they wanted to share.
They then brought their designs to life using paint and colour!🎨

Making the most of the sunshine, Y6 headed outside to complete their artwork. It may have been a little windy, but after a little bit of moving around to find the best spots, they created some truly beautiful pieces of art that raise awareness of Climate Change.

We’re so proud of their creativity and passion! 🌍
