Our Local Community! 🍂

Our Nursery children had a wonderful time putting on their coats and heading out for a walk to our local charity shop! 🧥🥾

Our little explorers enjoyed spotting all the changes that autumn has brought to our environment. From crunchy leaves 🍁 to cooler weather, muddy puddles and conkers falling from the trees 🌳

Our visit to the charity shop also provided a fantastic opportunity to develop our sense of community and help children understand the important role local organisations play. 💛

Walking in the local area supports so many areas of children’s development, including:
✨ Building confidence and independence
✨ Developing communication and language skills
✨ Learning about the world around us
✨ Developing road and community safety awareness
✨ Encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyles
✨ Building connections with our local community
✨ Developing curiosity and a love of exploring nature

We loved watching the children’s excitement as they discovered something new around every corner! 🍂👀 Autumn is certainly a wonderful time to explore! 🧡

🍂 Autumn has landed at nursery! 🍁

There’s a definite change in the air as we welcome the beautiful colours, sounds and textures of autumn! 🌳🍂

We’ve been busy exploring the changes happening in our environment through lots of fun, hands-on activities. From collecting and investigating leaves, conkers and other natural treasures, to creating autumn-inspired artwork, sensory play and learning about how the world around us changes with the seasons. 🐿️🍁🎨

Our little explorers have been encouraged to use their senses, ask questions, make observations and share their ideas as they discover what autumn has to offer. 🍂👀👃👐

🎨✨ A Visit to MIMA! ✨🎨

Our little artists had a wonderful trip to our local art museum, MIMA, where we explored the exciting Turner Prize 2026 exhibition!

The exhibition showcases work by four talented artists who have been shortlisted as finalists for this year’s Turner Prize. The children enjoyed looking closely at the different artworks, noticing colours, shapes, textures and interesting ideas along the way. 🖼️👀

We loved seeing how artists can express themselves in so many different ways — and it certainly inspired our own creativity!

When we arrived back at nursery, we became artists ourselves! 🎨🖌️

It was fantastic to see the children experimenting, making choices and expressing themselves through art. Who knows, perhaps we have some future artists in the making! 🌟🎨

📅 Zizus Milestones: Expanding to our second nursery! 📅

Another big step for Zizus was taking on our second nursery just last year in Grove Hill! But do you know the story of how this happened?

Back in 2025 the former Little Learners Nursery was about to close, leaving the local community without access to the Early Years services they needed...

Our Operations Director Nicola Knight saw this happening and decided to take a big leap - taking over the nursery as part of an expanded Zizus family!

With existing experienced staff and a fresh Zizus ideas, Zizus Day Care at The Hub - Grove Hill opened on 1st September 2025, starting a new chapter of childcare at The Community Hub at Grove Hill 🎉

Since then we've made so many amazing memories at Grove Hill, culminating in our Graduation & Summer Party just last month where we celebrated our wonderful Class of 2026 and all their incredible achievements! 💙

A big thank you to the wonderful team & local families for making this milestone possible, we look forward to many more special memories at Grove Hill 🫶
