🚔 A very special visit from our local police! 👮♀️👮♂️
What an amazing experience for our children! The children had the opportunity to meet police officers, explore a real police vehicle and learn all about the important role the police play within our community.
The visit provided lots of valuable learning opportunities linked to the EYFS and Key Stage 1, including communication and language, understanding the world, personal and social development, road safety and learning about people who help us.
The children loved asking questions, exploring the police car and learning about the equipment the officers use. It was wonderful to see their confidence, curiosity and excitement throughout the visit. ❤️
A huge thank you to our wonderful police officers for taking the time to visit us and make learning such a memorable experience! 🚓✨
Learning through real-life experiences, curiosity and play.
🥹❤️ One of those moments that makes your whole day…
Something happened today that honestly made my day — in fact, probably one of the loveliest moments of my childminding life. 🥲
Two boys who came to me when they were just 9 months old and 3 years old, and who left me a few years ago, came over to me today while they were out with their friends.
They said, “Hi Helen, how’s things? Nice to see you!” 🥹❤️
I absolutely loved that they came over to say hello, especially when they were with their friends. As children get older, sometimes they reach that stage where they don’t want to acknowledge you in front of their mates because it’s “embarrassing” 😂 — so I asked if I could have a hug, and they both happily said yes. ❤️
Well… I nearly cried! 🥲
It might seem like such a little thing, but to me it meant so much. I cared for these boys when they were so little, watched them grow, and became a tiny part of their childhood. To know that years later they still remember me, come over to say hello and are happy to give me a hug is just the loveliest feeling.
Moments like this remind me exactly why I love what I do. ❤️
You never really know just how much of an impact you have on a child’s life until they’re older and come back to show you that they remember. 🥹
My heart is full tonight. ❤️
I hope I didn’t embarrass them too much x

Children explored colour mixing and pattern making through a sensory shaving foam marbling activity. They developed fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and communication while investigating how colours combine to create unique prints. The activity encouraged curiosity, confidence, and independent exploration through open-ended play.

Today we visited our local fire station, where children had the opportunity to meet firefighters and experience using a real fire hose. The visit helped build confidence, encouraged teamwork, and taught valuable fire safety lessons while creating fun, memorable learning experiences.

So today we went to the doctors for Helens check up and bloods then went on to do a little pick for our local community after this we picked brambles and when we got home bramble flapjacks yum yum.
These are rich, real-life learning opportunities that help children develop practical life skills alongside confidence, independence, and an appreciation for their health, community, and the natural world.
