Album of the Month 🦈

This month’s pick is Count Your Blessings: Repented by Bring Me The Horizon.

I absolutely loved the original Count Your Blessings back when I was in college. I remember sitting on the bus thinking I was the coolest kid around with this blasting through my headphones.

It was one of my first introductions to more extreme metal, and it completely opened the door to heavier music for me.

It’s been on repeat all month. If you were a fan back in the day, or you’ve never given this era of BMTH a proper listen, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

🎧 Favourite track this month: A Lot Like Vegas.

☀️ We hope all of our students are enjoying the start of their summer holidays!

Just a little reminder that lessons at Middlesbrough Music Academy continue throughout the summer holidays as usual.

If you’re heading away on holiday and won’t be able to attend your lesson, please remember to let us know in advance or cancel your lesson through the MyMusicStaff app.

Have a brilliant summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone in lessons! 🎶

A huge congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Lola!

If you see Lola around the academy, please be sure to tell her what a fantastic job she’s doing. We think she’s earned plenty of fuss, a few extra treats, and perhaps even a well deserved nap after all her hard work!

Well done, Lola. Keep up the excellent work! 🐾❤️

If you’ve been into Middlesbrough Music Academy recently, you may have spotted our brand new record wall in the waiting room!

To kick things off, we’re starting a new little feature here at MMA, our “Record of the Month”.

This month’s pick is Paul McCartney’s brand new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane.

I’ve had it playing all week, and there are some absolutely brilliant songs on there. My personal favourite has to be Home To Us, the first vocal duet between Paul and Ringo Starr since The Beatles split!

Have you listened to the album yet? If so, what’s your favourite track?

We’ve got a blank wall… and we’re looking for inspiration 👀

Right, we need your help.

We’re working on ideas for this wall at Middlesbrough Music Academy and would love to hear what you’d put there.

Some ideas we’ve thrown around so far:

🎸 Giant guitar wall art
🎵 Song lyrics
⭐ Student achievements
🎤 Music themed artwork
🎨 Student creations
🔥 Something completely random

Drop your ideas below, we’d love to hear them.

We’re officially open in our new Middlesbrough Music Academy premises! 🥳

Over the past few weeks we’ve been busy moving everything across, building the new teaching rooms and getting the space ready for lessons, and we’re really pleased to finally have the doors open.

Don’t worry though, we haven’t gone far, just across the car park!

The new studio gives us a much better setup for teaching, with dedicated lesson rooms, a larger live room and a more comfortable environment for students and tutors alike.

A huge thank you to all of our students, parents and tutors for being patient and supportive during the move. We’re really excited for what’s ahead in the new space.

We’re now fully up and running and look forward to welcoming everyone in over the coming weeks.
