The Hope Foundation
A Middlesbrough charity supporting local people. Helping to reduce digital poverty and access.for everyone. Providing support for over 50's around well-being
We offer advice on training, careers and local services and offer accredited training. The Hope Foundation began in 1995 with a small group of 4 volunteers. The aim was, and still is, to make a difference in the local community; to listen to what local people need and to try and meet that need. Our mission is to help build a safe and strong community in which local people play an active role.

We’re starting a friendly new group at The Hope Foundation where people can relax, have a brew and enjoy some classic board games together.
If you’ve got any complete board games at home that aren’t being used, we’d love to give them a new home. Think Scrabble, Monopoly, Cluedo or Uno, anything that brings people together.
You can drop them off at Hope House, 1 Grange Road, Middlesbrough
Help us spread the word and help us get this group going! 💛

We were so grateful to receive 50 winter warm packs from Northern Gas Networks for our Centre for Warmth.

Stephen called in to The Hope Foundation last week for some IT support to print off tickets he’d bought online.
He told us how helpful the team had been:
“Kerry nailed it, she helped me when I would have been floundering.”
Stephen said he loves coming in because “the place is vibrant and full of activity. There’s always people doing courses, working on the computers and in the café.”
One of our amazing volunteers, Peter, has also helped Stephen several times with tech questions. If you’d like a bit of help too, why not drop in between 10am and 12 noon on Thursdays when Peter or one of our other Tea and Tech volunteers will be here to offer friendly 1 to 1 support.
Stephen picked up one of our Activities leaflets and plans to come back again soon. We can’t wait to see him. 💛

There’s still plenty going on, so pop in and see what’s happening, we’d love to see you!

We’re so proud to celebrate the success of our learners and tutors.
Last year, 97% of learners who started a qualification with us went on to achieve it. That’s an incredible result for our team.
Here’s how our learners did:
Entry Level success rate: 98%
Maths: 98%
EDSQ: 100%
Level 1 and 2 English and maths: up from 56% in 2021/22 to 82% in 2024/25
Level 2 English: up from 39% to 70%
A massive well done to our amazing tutors, volunteers and learners. Your hard work, encouragement and belief in each other have made these results possible. 💛
Learning really does change lives, and we couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve achieved together.
